That is so frustrating when you know a product exists, but you can't get it at your grocery, or in your area at all. I know the Peperidge Farms is now making whole grain breakfast breads like Cinnamon Raison and Brown Sugar Cinnamon, but my stores aren't carrying them.
Huge bummer!

Excuse me while I sob. (((sob, sniffle, HONK)))
When I first discovered the Boboli ww crusts, I was screaming it from the rooftops (and this board) because I could once again make pizza at home again the way I like it. It wasn't but a month or so before my local stores stopped carrying it or were carrying it so sporadically that I had to hoard and freeze them when I COUDL find them. Now even the giant new Wegman's won't stock them.
I talked to a manager at several stores that stopped selling them. They all told me that Boboli stocks its own racks and that the Boboli delivery guy, not the grocery store, decides what to stock and how much. They said that if the Boboli guy doesn't see a product moving, it's gone. Period.
I found a crust at Whole Foods that comes pre-baked like Boboli (but in the freezer section). I think it's called California Style or at least it says that in large letters on the package. It's good, though it isn't whole wheat. It isn't just white either--it must be some sort of whole grain blend because it definitely doesn't impact my weight the way the white Boboli crusts did.

I am trying a new lowfat frozen treat as I type this. Instead of my usual Haagen Dazs Lite Coffee or Chocolate ice cream, I saw Ben & Jerry's had a Fudge Brownie lowfat frozen yogurt that was half the fat of the Haagen Dazs Lite Chocolate and even less than half the fat of the other Haagen Dazs Lite flavors (which are, inexplicably, all higher fat than chocolate).
I could tell as soon as I opened the container that it wasn't going to be as creamy as Haagen Dazs Lite, and it isn't. But it's about twice as chocolatey and still very enjoyable, so if you're a chocolaholic like me and you're looking for something with a big chocolatey bang for your fat gram buck, I'd give it a try.
My only complaint is that it has quite large brownie chunks that are a little on the gooey side. I would have liked it much better if the chunks were smaller so they could blend into the yogurt more vs. having to stop and deal with these big chunks every time (my teeth are very temperature sensitive so I can't just chomp through them along with the yogurt).

This whole grain blend includes brown rice, barley and pearled wheat and a Rice-a-Roni-type chicken seasoning packet. Since I'm sodium-sensitive, I only used 1/2 to 2/3 of the packet. Taste-wise, I might have preferred using it all, because it was JUST the slightest bit bland. Otherwise, I LOVED it. I took it for lunch every day this week as my grain side dish with roasted chicken and sugar snap peas. Highly recommended. (There are four other varieties in this Whole Blends series. Nutrition information is available on their website.)
What new stuff have YOU tried?
Sheri, I love the Creamy Parmesan (so does my family), and the roasted garlic and pecan is a great side dish. The Roasted garlic and pecan is too strong to eat by itself, but is wonderful with grilled chicken.

Trader Joes has a frozen brown rice that is a cinch to micro and my dh will even eat it. It has a nuttier flavor and is very filling.
Boboli (sp?) has a whole wheat pizza crust, which I can only find at one grocery store, but it is quite good. Again, dh will eat it, so that always makes me happy

Tried a new Kashi cereal called "Mighty Bites." I got it for DS, since it's shape and packaging seemed aimed at kids, but I think I ate more of it than he did. Definitely more flavorful than regular Kashi, but lower calorie and not as sweet as the Go Lean Crunch that I love. I liked it better than regular Go Lean, too.
I would like to share a review (my opinion for all that is worth ) of a couple of Sara Lee Breads.
Sara Lee Heart Healthy Plus This is a 100% Multi-Grain bread that contains 4 g fiber per slice. It also contains 15% Calcium, 4% Iron, 10% Vitamin D, 6% Thiamin, 2% Riboflavin, 4% Niacin and 10% FOLIC ACID per 1 single slice!! 1 g fat, 4 g protein and 80 calories per slice.
I really love the taste of this bread compaired to other whole grain/multi-grain breads. Some of the whold grain breads I have tried taste like they were made out of sawdust!!! This bread actually has taste and a nice taste at that It does have a more "course" (not sure if that is the right word) texture than your average white bread but you expect that from a multi-grain product.
If you are just fickle about sticking to a soft white bread then try Sara Lee "Soft & Smooth" made w/Whole Grain White. It is VERY soft and children WILL eat it (I know this LOL!!!!) The label doesn't prove it to be as nutricious as the 100% Multi-Grain but it contains 1.5g fiber, 1g fat, 3g protein per slice. Other daily requirement nutri. info per slice: 7%Thiamin, 4% Riboflavin, 12% Calcium!!!, 5%Niacin, 4% Iron, 7% Folic Acid and 10% Vitamin D perslice. Like I said, not as nutricious as the Multi-Grain but still a nutricious soft bread (or so the package claims).
I also like the new Mazola Pure cooking spray with no alcohol or silicone.
SIDE NOTE: Remember when Lean Cuisine used to offer some of their entree's in boil in the bag pouches? Personally, those were so much better than what they offer today. I know that a microwavable tray is more convient for those who take the meals to work & so on but I just find them not to be as good as the bags were.
