What do you have to do to get yourself ready for spring/summer? Is is a cleaning project; a self- evaluation, keeping on keeping on, what is it you have to do to be ready for the change of season from big heavy clothes that hide everything, to light clothes that don't hide our flaws? Or what do you have to shed to change from a winter blah attitude to a spring/summer "can do" attitude.

Tell us, and then brain-storm some ways that you can accomplish part of your reformation.

Thanks for letting me late, I completely forgot it was the first of March AND the weekend.

Enjoy!

Like some of the others, my routine seems pretty good and won't change much with Spring.

Summer Goal:
Eat Sitting Down

We were in Orlando this weekend...it's one of the times of year that it isn't overcrowded.

Spring's just not different here. We had a run of a few days where I needed a coat in the morning, but we don't have "seasons" in the traditional sense. I did start some seeds just to see how they do at a different time of year.

To be ready for summer, we do a lot of the things people up north do for winter. We make sure our air conditioning is working well, double-check the seals on the windows and see if there's any place to add insulation. Other than when we HAVE to be outside, summer is for staying inside.

Challenge Goals:
*10 minutes of unplanned exercise five times a week
*Gym time twice a week
*Socialize at least once every two weeks.

Sorry I didn't reply earlier Cathy but honestly I'm not sure that I do anything different in the spring/summer.

I feel like the last two months have been really, really good for me. I feel a sense of balance and overall well being that I haven't felt in a long time. I don't know if it's because I'm no longer in pain and sleeping again or that I'm meditating and having more quiet/reflective time or some combination thereof but I feel great and plan to continue this trend into the next season ; )

I said to dh today that I think my surgery was really a blessing and couldn't have come at a better time.

I'm going back to hospice work this Spring and I started writing again both of which really renew my spirit.

Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.

G uess homework this weekend bombed. Ah well, maybe that means we've all been out enjoying the weather rather than sitting in front of the computer. Have a great week, remember YOU are the reason for being happy, healthy and wise.

i would really love to develop a little outdoor table and dining area, because i love the sounds of spring. i would love to hang out outside more and more. if my allergies will allow.
today is march 1--it has been one year since i separated. under the law, i am allowed to file for divorce now. so today, i have been working on the filings like a mad woman. wanting to move forward....that is my feeling about spring. spring forward.

Goals:
1. Stop thinking like a chronic dieter and start living to inspire.
2. HALT (hungry, anxious, lonely, tired) I will stop and tune in with myself should I experience these things, and respond with something healthy.
3. One word 2008: courage
4. Eat slow and mindfully.

Pretty much the only change for spring will be consistently being able to run outside again. For the last 5 weeks I've been running my miles on a treadmill. (We rarely see a snow plow or salt trucks in our neighborhood.)

I've been wearing my summer running clothes for much of the winter when working out indoors, and for whatever reason have been sticking to lighter foods that I normally wouldn't be eating during the colder months.

I will have to say goodbye to my favorite sweat pants and some of my winter running gear once it stays warm as some of it has gotten really baggy on me.

Otherwise, warm weather getting here & staying will be a nice change. I'm seriously over apples, bananas, citrus fruit, and other "winter fruits". I miss my fresh berries, fresh peaches, apricots, watermelon, etc. Thankfully asparagus is starting to come into season, but that won't help with my berry cravings.

Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.
