Among many other things, BMI was designed to be an "inexpensive and easy-to-perform" initial screening tool. It was not designed to be used as a "diagnostic tool".
In my case, when I had a BMI of 27.5, I had a (Tanita scale) Body Fat Percentage of 32%. Using either measure, I was overweight.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Sheltieguy,
