Hey ladies, I saw on my yahoo news page about the highway collapse near the Bay Bridge...I'm assuming that since it occurred at 3:45 am that neither of you were anywhere near it I'm also hopeful that neither of you are needing to use the Bay Bridge in the near future? So sad! Glad that there were no deaths and that it occured when it did....it could have been SO MUCH worse!
Blessings,
Lori

That's very strange (that it happened in two other places recently), because on March 27, we could see the flames from our house from a similar accident here.
Challenge Goals: *10 minutes of unplanned exercise five times a week *Gym time twice a week *Socialize at least once every two weeks.

Doesn't affect me much at all. I would affect me directly IF I ever needed to use the Bay Bridge. It is between me an the bridge. But I don't. So it doesn't.
We had a similar situation happen here in Houston this past week. didn't bring down the bridge it happened under tho. Unfortunately the driver in our accident did not make it - but it's closed down two bridges 1 for 2 weeks and one for two months.
Oh, Paula, I'm sorry that the driver didn't make it in your case. This morning I heard on the news that the driver got free from the truck, hailed a cab and had it take him to the hospital. He did have some pretty bad burns, I guess, but is in good and stable condition.
And I agree, Denise, I told Don when I read the story....well, if it HAD to happen, it was a good time for it to happen.
Blessings,
Lori

Well, happily, I was wrong. No problems getting to work at all. I did leave early and public transportation agencies are waiving fares today, but I haven't seen/heard of any major traffic tie-ups. Fingers crossed.
Going to affect me in a big way starting tomorrow. Traffic is going to be awful, as people try to figure out ways around the closed portions of the freeway. I take public transportation most of the way, and I will probably have lots of new friends.
