I've been on track all week thanks to my workplace cafeteria. I've been loading up on veggies at the salad bar in addition to the main course, and lo and behold! the same amount of food or even more goes in my mouth but there's NO FOOD COMA.
The lightbulb moment was yesterday when I was prepping a salad for dinner. I was looking at all the colorful ingredients and realized: "Oh, %¤/%¤#/%#/&%. I actually LIKE eating this stuff!" I've had no digestive issues and very few cravings this week.
WOO HOO!
Remind me of this post next time I fall off the wagon and start complaining.

same for me. i have learned to beomce more in tune with my body, and lots of fresh greens definitely makes me feel great. cool beans girl!
Goals: 1. Stop thinking like a chronic dieter and start living to inspire. 2. HALT (hungry, anxious, lonely, tired) I will stop and tune in with myself should I experience these things, and respond with something healthy. 3. One word 2008: courage 4. Eat slow and mindfully.
I am still amazed at how CRAPPY I feel when I eat off plan. I happen to have a sensitive system and need good quality food at regular intervals. I feel sick and moody when I go too far off. I used to hate this about myself, but I get that it is a blessing and helps me stay on track.
Yea, there are two things that have been nearly if not completely gone from my life for the 3+ years that I've been eating healthy--carb comas and the over-stuffed feeling I used to frequently have after eating.
Changing from white carbs to brown (whole wheat/whole grain) helped me tremendously in the carb coma category, as did (as you are finding) jacking up my intake of veggies.
Goals: 1. Exercise-Cardio: 2-3 walking or DVD cardio workouts per week. 2. Exercise-Weights/Toning: 1-2 weight plus 1 toning workout per week. 3. Food: Increase veggie servings back to where they were. 4. Behavior: Reduce sweets.
