What does one wear to the most important purchase of one's life?

Today is the day! By tonight, I shall be among the ranks of homeowners, unless something goes catastrophically wrong.

I'm late to the party as usual, but how did it go! What an AMAZING and exciting event!

There is nothing like closing on a house, I swear it's not that different from a marriage or a birth! You walk away feeling totally changed. I hope it went well. I'm so proud of you Cate Smiler

Congratulations! Hope your arm isn't too sore from signing 5,000 documents. Big Grin

Congrats!!! A set of matching pens would be most appropriate... blue or black...

We were handed a stack of documents... about two reams of paper... a stack of papers 6" high.

The first time we bought a house, we actually tried to read them. We soon realized that it was all in legalize and we were clueless. We also realized that if we read each piece of paper... we would die of old age before we ever got the keys.

So... we just signed our lives away... any place that was highlighted. The title co. person explained the most important papers to us.

Me, personally...I'd use the pen as an accessory to jeans and a fitted T-shirt, sort of like a homebuyer's pocket square. But then wearing only the pen to a closing where you expect some difficulty from the other party sure could diffuse the tension.

2. Prepare new garden bed for next season

I'm with all of these, jeans and a shirt...shows you are a working person, and a very comfy pen for all the paperwork.

Congratulations Cate!
Hope the closing goes well.

BTW, I usually showed up in jeans and such because once the keys were in my hand, I got to work ; )
