I think that is a good idea..the general plan. Love that you will be doing something on the home page. for those that don't have the day planner...what I like about it is that it gives 'bitty assignments' and ways to improve. (The first week is good better best habits...)Also there is a general part to write what you eat each day- not by hour just a space for Mon, Tues etc... that is the way I personally think...My first 12 weeks are filled up so I think I may have to buy a new one or I might just track on fit-day...but I like that i can just jot it in the book- it gives a good amount accountability but not by calorie. (Although sometimes the calorie reminder on fit-day is a good idea for me LOL.) Cool beans...i'd love to say I can't wait to start...but I'd kind of like to keep eating gonzo amounts of Christmas cookies..oh well...there will be time again for that too
I love this idea! Just a heads up....I'm going to do a blurb about the Day planner on the home page and link to a new thread on the day planner - how about we take the day planner week by week - and use it as a guide - we don't have to follow it - so much as discuss it and use it as inspiration...of course following it is nice too
poppin' this to the top to remind folks we will start Sunday/Monday. Come on! It will be fun!!! I was just re-looking at week one and it is about good better best habits. So start thinkin' on that one. (I don't plan to really 'post' / rewrite the homework as it is in the book....but if you don't get the book you can still join in on the conversation but the book is only $15 and well worth it! )....plus...it'll be fun!! I promise
Thanks to all who put this together...KD the book, and SAHM for volunteering to post to get us started. GREAT! A good shot in the arm for the year....Bless your hearts.
Happy New Year Cathy J

i just noticed there is a sticky topic on this from Jan 06... lets see if we can keep this topic to the front w/o a sticky LOL! i'm looking forward to it too and yes...Jan 7th is the start time I was thinking....6th or 7th...I may post on Sunday the topic because we homeschool and Monday mornings are NOT the best time for me LOL! I need substantial coffee before I get going on those days!
I went on Amazon.com, and I was able to read some excerpts from the book. I like the recipe ideas and the journaling. How many of you have the daybook and used it regularly? I think by posting daily here and using KD's daybook will help! I have read from several here that journaling their eating has been a great success so I look forward to working in the book and posting here. I am a bit confused on the start date. Will we start on Monday, meaning 12/31 or the following Monday? If it is the 31st I need to get to Borders tomorrow.

I have no specific goal(s) right now. I am trying to find the spiritual side of myself that I lost somewhere along the way.
that is what I'm thinking- i'm just throwing that idea out there though. I'll put up a post on Sunday or Monday and we'll just see how it goes. If no-one bites then we'll just ditch the idea. That is the plan though. BTW...the book wasn't cheaper on amazon except for tax so if you have a coupon or educator discount at B/N or borders that would be cheaper. I may buy a new copy myself...haven't decided yet...
So let me make sure I have this right-we will be following along in the Daybook? I don't have it but I will get it if that is what we are using. I wanted to get it last year but never did. I am excited about buying and working through the journal, especially with support from you all here!

We could just put a "WEEK X" with the title of that week's chapter. I don't mind doing that if there are a few folks that want to do it. Then we could just post our thoughts, successes, helps, and recipes tried etc... whatever floats our boat for that week.... thoughts?
I am planning on following the daybook starting the first of the year, but I don't honestly know how often I can check in here. Starting when school starts (the 14th?) I will be watching a 3 month old baby boy for 3 days a week in addition to homeschooling my own 4 children and maintaining a home and getting back on the "weight loss train". But I will try to check in at least one day per week.....
I got the daybook right after it was published 2 years ago, and have never actually "done" it! So, this year is the year to do it! I'm still following the DASH diet (kind of loosely right now, but I am very mindful of my meat, vegetable and fruit portions....not so much my dairy or grain right now).
Blessings,
Lori

I have gotten about a third of the way through twice. (That is generally the way I am with books.... not just diet books.) But when I do the book it is motivating to me.
i bought it at the local borders....so it is probably available locally. Amazon doesn't give a discount (except no tax.)
Each week has food, fun fitness and focus... and places to track your food. You can see examples on amazon. IN addition, it usually gives a recipe each week. It would give a framework for the discussion w/o being a burden for anyone to think up something...why reinvent the wheel..kwim?
