I know, some of you are going to think that Cathy she is such a baby. Go ahead, I just heard it as the guys left for five days. UGH! I hate this. My dh and son are going to a drum and bugle corps camp (Fri - Sun) then stopping off and picking up my other son on Monday and Tuesday. FIVE DAYS alone! Sounds like heaven huh? Well, it's this kind of thing that makes me shiver and shake and bawl my eyes out. Seriously. I love alone time, but, this is a bit much. Instead of overeating, I will NOT eat and that isn't good for diabetics. So I am working on this plan for the next five days:
1. Eat breakfast, and lunch....something I haven't been doing is eating lunch and then wondering why I am hungry at 3:00.
2. Fix a healthy, new recipe dinner each night.
3. Clean, clean, clean.
4. Shop till I drop --- I haven't started Christmas shopping yet....saved it for this weekend.
5. Get all the chick-flicks at Blockbuster and share popcorn with the pups.
6. Hair, nails and toes. I am changing hair color, that will teach them to leave me alone.
7. I have devices that make me feel secure at night, and I will use those, and remember that God doesn't give us anymore than we can handle and I am at "tilt" now.
8. Come here and try not to whine too much.

HOHOHOHO, tis the season.

Thanks for letting me get it together.

Cathy

How you doing, Cathy? I see you posting a lot... even if it is a little quite here on the board. Is it helping? Thinking of you!

I always shared a room with siblings or room-mates and I didn't even have my own bedroom until I was 28 years old and had my own apartment. I only lasted 6 months and then moved in with a roommate and then got married, so I really understand your fear of being alone.

You are a woman with a plan!! Keep posting. If you get on-line and post, "OK, I'm cleaning the bathroom now... anybody want to join me?", I know that you will have lots cyber company!

Sounds like a great plan Cathy!
Happy shopping/wrapping and getting in some pampering : )

Wow - that sounds nice. That is a huge incentive to deep clean my bathtub today.

It's looking like a great plan Cathy. I also was going to suggest scheduling some time with a friend if that is possible. Maybe share one of those healthy dinners with someone? I too get sort of sucked into an abyss with too many consecutive days on my own...always have to schedule some social time in there for myself.

I know you have tons to do so hopefully that will get you moving and keep you occupied. Leaving the shopping was a great strategy!

Cathy--

This is a good reminder for me that not everyone loves their alone time like I do. Smiler I am so accustomed to being alone that I get a little cranky when someone is visiting for 5 days...just the opposite of you! hehe

Please PLEASE take good care of yourself during this time and try your best to HAVE FUN! This is your chance to luxuriate in only having YOU to take care of and no one else! (Okay, well the pups still need your care of course.)

Maybe schedule lunch or a crafting session with a friend so you don't feel alone the whole time? Whatever makes YOU happy and less uncomfortable.

I also highly recommend a wonderfully-scented bubble bath with candles and your most favorite soothing music (I love Nat King Cole's Christmas CD at this time of year). It can be a time to reflect on the year that was or just relax.
