Has anyone tried the "fit n'delicious" pizza from Pizza Hut?
The veggie, lower fat pizza only had 150 calories per slice (from a medium pizza). Not too terrible for Pizza Hut but I'm just wondering how it tastes!

Yes, the low carb tortillas are great too! It's so nice to finally have some options for whole wheat products. It only took a diet craze about carbs to do it. I hope they stay.
I am trying to remember the particular brand of crust but I can't. I was talking about the premade crusts (because i use them in a hurry, and when I have company. I'd never get the whole pizza eaten by myself. I'd have in the fridge for a week...or i'd wind up eating too much of it!) It usually doesn't even say "whole wheat" on the front. Just "Low Carb." If you check the label, these are usually made with whole wheat dough so it lowers the net carb count. If I figure out the brand, i'll come post it!

Kara, I haven't had much luck finding whole wheat pizza crust. Do you have a particular brand you prefer or can you tell me where you get them? Also, are you talking about ready-made crusts or the dough to make the crusts from?
I have read here on the board that TJs sells the whole wheat refrigerated dough and I was just there the other day and knew there was something else I was supposed to be looking for but couldn't remember what it was!
P.S. I've found the same thing with the low carb tortillas, Kara.

Hi guys. I just wanted to leave a note about store bought pizza crusts. I totally dont do the whole low carb thing at ALL, but I have noticed that the low carb pizza crusts from the store are a lot better for you. They have about the same amount of calories as the white versions but are made with whole wheat, and have a lot of fiber. A lot of the low carb bread products seem to have that now because they subtract the amount of fiber from the total carbs, so it seems like less carbs than is actually in a product. Silly for them, but good for people who want more whole wheat bread products! If i ever buy hotdog/hamburger rolls, i buy the low carb ones as well. just a thought for your pizza making forays!
hi all. i must say that i order pizza or the steak subs every week. how ever, i always order a large salad to go with it. i have a big bowl of salad, 2 slices of pizza, or a 1/2 a steak sandwich. i too could eat a whole pizza or sub not long ago. i can't go without so i have a salad with it. it is better than not having it at all. i am getting used to it and i feel better now.
I think we all have a few foods that we just can't be trusted with. I can have fritos, ice cream, cakes, etc. in the house and they are totally safe. I've had to totally outlaw doritos of any sort, and cashew caramel turtles. I've just added the following to the ten commandments:
Thou shalt NEVER touch doritos or turtles. And if I MUST have one, I get one and have hubby hide the rest.

ps As far as pizza goes, I'm in the club of having one or two pieces of really good pizza rather than risk something icky. I can be better at home if I make a huge salad and eat it while I let all but one or two slices get cold. (I can't stand cold pizza.)
Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.
Maybe it was a full moon or something! LOL It feels kind of nice to have a little company in this, but of course I don't wish the feeling of knowing you've gone awry on anyone.

Sheri & Sandy - Last night it wasn't pizza (could have been, has been), but I'm in the overeating group too. We went to Lebanese Taverna, ordered almost every carb on the menu and ate it all. I never knew that french fries (are those Lebanese?) tasted so good dipped in a garlic sauce!

Based on Fer's feedback, we skipped Pizza Hut and came home and defrosted some home made vegetarian chili. I wasn't willing to waste the calories on something that could potentially be icky.
As an aside, I LOVE deep dish pizza dough and can't control myself in its present either. I just mentally tell myself over and over how many calories and fat are in just one slice (which would never in a million years satisfy me) and that usually works for me.

WE all have foods that are just going to have to be "off-limits" for me it is chocolate of any kind. For however long it takes, chocolate will not be a part of my eating habits. Identifying those and sticking to your guns about not eating them is tough. I don't have problems with pizza or pastries or other high calorie things. But chocolate is a NONONONO, run as fast as you can food. OOPS, forgot the cheetoes, Can't have those in the house either....and the two together can kill me.
It's never too late to get it right.

:::nodding in understanding:::
I have felt pretty passionate this year about not saying "never" to any food because I had had such a problem with failing in the past by trying to be TOO restrictive. It's very likely that I lose weight much slower than others because I do fit in these foods to my menu.
However, last night, in an episode I can only describe as someone else entering my body, I not only ordered a Domino's Pizza but I ate mass quantities of it. As I went to bed last night feeling like a stuffed pig and a total failure, I realized that Domino's is one of those things that I will just have to give up. Like you with the Pizza Hut. There haven't been many things that I've had to totally give up. I've done fine with having an occasional single chocolate chip cookie from Whole Foods or an occasional single Krispy Kreme glazed donut from Giant, an occasional burger and fries from Chili's, etc. Not a problem. But this is a problem...because it's not only this time but this time plus the last 2 times. I thought I had such a grip on everything else, why not this? Well...I don't know why, but I clearly do NOT have a grip on this so it has to go.
For the vast majority of the past 1 1/2 years, pizza has been a small, single-serving pizza made at home (though using a storebought crust) with fresh tomatoes, red bell peppers, reduced fat mozzarella and turkey pepperoni. Like you, Sandy, I do not have a problem with overeating my own pizza. I do, however, have a problem with gaining weight from the white-flour crust I had been buying, so I hadn't had one in a good while and I think that's what led to this binge. I will need to bite the bullet and learn to make homemade whole wheat crust.
P.S. In no way did I call Domino's with any intention to overeat. I actually thought I could eat 2 slices and stop. I thought my problem the last 2 times this happened was because I ordered the thin crust and that wasn't filling enough. So this time I ordered the regular crust...well, that was filling alright, but I just kept eating anyway. (sigh)

I have an almost impossible time with Pizza Hut as it was my favorite food on which to overeat. I would go for lunch with my sister years ago and eat at least 6 slices- sometimes 8. I even did this with m dd when she was very young. I considered it a "treat" for myself. I have to stay away. I still eat pizza, but generally make it al home with ww crust, low fat cheese and veggies. My sauce is high quality too. I don't overeat my own pizza.
Still, I sometimes pass a pizza Hut and think that I could go in for a lunch buffet. I can't. I would be too tempted to overeat. I can have a cake or ice cream in my house for weeks and not touch it, but can't go to Pizza Hut.
I don't think that the pizza is good quality--- I think that is why I tend to binge on it. I saw a show Friday on public TV about eating behaviors. The Phsychologist said that people tend to eat 40-45% more food when it is poor quality. Pizza Hut and Cheetos are not food that have no integrity (for me) and I can't have them- at all- or I overeat.
I am never satisfied with bad pizza or chips. I am satisfied with a small bit of good cheese, or a fabulous salad.
Cooking at home and buying best quality ingredients keeps me eating appropriate portion sizes.
I know that this has nothing to do with the quesiton, Bee, but I am sort of trying to process these ideas and needed to "think" here. I apologize if I have stayed off topic too much.
Last night we were at a pizza party. I ate 4 slices. They were quite small, but I really could have had 2 and been much happier. It was really bad pizza- sort of frozen pizza only from a restaurant. I was very disappointed with myself and am trying to work out what goes on with me around chips, pizza, junk food. I know more and more that keeping a clean pantry is essential.
I haven't tried that one. My sister says the one from Papa Johns is yucky. The take-n-bakes from Papa Murphy's are really good. My 21 month old prefers that type of pizza easier to eat. I haven't tried Round Table yet either. Michelle
Thanks for responding Fer. Is there a difference between the low carb and the low fat varieties? I wouldn't be interested in the low carb either but it sounded from their website that there was a low fat version.

I personally don't think its worth it. I'm a carbaholic, so I'd rather get a pizza with the normal crust and no cheese for 200 calories a slice than eat the cardboard-like thin crust for 150. Just my preference though.
