I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. Since dd and I are not into sports we spent the weekend watching movies Smiler when we were at home.
PBS had a great special going for about 3 hours on Broadway Musicals that we just happened to luck up on Sunday afternoon. We also watched:

Goldfinger
Dr. No
Only You
Under the Tuscan Sun
She Devil
Somethings Gotta Give
Elizabethtown
The Thomas Crown Affair (second one)

Big Grin Not in that order and not straight thru one after the other. I knitted during most of them and finished the scarf I was working on so now I can try to learn this shadow knitting thing and dd worked on drawings for her classes.

It was fun to watch the old 007 movies after so many years and dd had never seen either one of them.

My weekend was nice.
Saturday we went to Dalton, GA to look at flooring for the house. We stopped at an Outlet mall too and I got some new walking shoes, and some new clothes for DS. (He is outgrowing pants like crazy recently.)

Sunday we cleaned and then went to a Super Bowl party until half time. (Had to get DS to bed.) Then we watched the rest of the game at home. Being a native Hoosier, I am really happy that The Colts won. (Sorry Bears fans.)

SmilerMine was really great. I suppose if I were any kind of football fan it would have been better.
Friday night was the Rookie of the year party at a club called Opium in South Beach. Jonny Damon was there and Jeff Gordon, that was exciting to me, but all of the Football players, I really had no idea who they were. I did get my picture taken with some really cute ones, I thought my daughter would enjoy that. She loves football. I did get a pic with cute little Jeff Gordon. He and I are about the same size I think.
Saturday was dinner on a yacht that cruised Biscayne bay, there were fireworks, it was lovely, but chilly and windy, so I stayed inside.
Sunday was a big tailgate party with more Foodball players. Again, I got pictures and autographs for my kids, but didn't know who they were. The Jacksonville Jaguars Cheerleaders were there taking pictures and giving autographs. They asked my husband if he wanted one and I said a very clear NO.
All in all it was lots of fun. Very yucky weather, but fun. I considered it to be a Series of Unfortunate Hair Days.....but no big deal.

I did gain 4 pounds, but whos counting!

Cobismom, I am so sorry you had so much pain. I am keeping you in prayer! Wish I could do something for you. Here is a smile.... Smiler

We had a great weekend.

District honor band was this Saturday. I had 9 former students in the Jr. High band and 5 in the Sr. High... including ds.

ds had a great experience and they sounded great and I was very proud of all of them.

Sunday, we had some very good family time watching the game.

Very nice weekend, all and all.

I'm so sorry to hear that you were in so much pain Cathy. That totally sucks! I hope you are able to get relief soon.

The party turned out nice. I made a nacho/taco salad bar. We also did veggie tray and grapes. My Godparents brought chili and Jelly bellies. It was nice and my brother and his wife were able to just relax and enjoy the game.

On Saturday, DS had a play date that somehow became a kids vs. their dads soccer game. Wish I could have seen it, but I was enjoying a little time alone -- shopping for girl stuff.

On Sunday, I ran a 5K race early in the morning. That was a lot of fun, but I didn't stretch enough afterward and I'm really sore today.

In the afternoon, with the TiVo set to record the game, we went out on the bay to watch the Queen Mary II come in under the Golden Gate Bridge. It was an awesome sight!

All Hail the Queen!

I have to say, the game was disappointing. I expected it to be a close, hard-fought contest, not a "who can screw up less" fest. And the ads -- an even bigger disappointment. Oh well, pitchers and catchers report to spring training in just a few short weeks...

I had a nice weekend. Friday night was out to dinner with a couple of girlfriends for one of their birthdays. Spent the day Saturday with my best friend & her son and had a chance to do some fun stuff. Yesterday a coworker and I went to a sale at a local scrapbooking store and then came back and crafted at home. I made 6-7 valentines and it was soooo relaxing. I really need to connect with that creative part of myself much more often. I had the game on for a while and then muted it during the halftime show and left it muted while I watched some of my favorite Thursday shows online. Love that option! A good, relaxing weekend all around.

We had a great weekend. Enjoyed dinner out with our friends and neighbors at the fundraiser Saturday, and our sporting Sunday even though both our teams lost (the Cavs and then the Bears).

Ours was good! The party was a lot of fun....and we learned just before the game that one of our "local boys" plays for Chicago, so we decided to root for them. It was fun rooting for a team that we don't normally root for! Smiler By the way, the young man I'm referring to is Bernard Berrien #80....he was a student at Fresno State University before he was drafted into the NFL. He was one of the "good boys" and leaders in the Fresno State program while he was here, so it was our pleasure to cheer him on Smiler

Blessings,
