I don't have lots of time to type this morning, but wasnted to say that since I have recommitted to ALWAYS sitting down while I eat, I have felt way more mindful of my eating and I have been eating slower. This one is linked so closely to day 3 for me. When I get one, I tend to get the other.
I have eaten lunch at the dining room table two days in a row--something I almost NEVER do when I am home alone. Yesterday, I was headed to the office to web surf or play games while I ate, and I stopped when I got to the DR table and said "No...let's eat here." However, both yesterday and today, I did do a crossword puzzle while I ate so, while I still wasn't eating with no distractions, I think it is a little improvement from sitting in front of the computer or TV.
Personal Healthy Habits Challenge - 10/1 to 12/31/08: 1. Exercise: Get back to consistently working out 3-5 X week. 2. Food: Get back to consistently preparing healthy lunches for the week with increased veg servings. 3. Behavior: Reduce intake of sweets.

I'm bad about this one since all meals at home (if I'm alone) are in front of the TV or PC. I still really enjoy my food and am aware of it as I'm eating it (i.e., not just shoveling it in), but I could be both more mindful and slower.
