Here we go...already day 3 of week 3! How goes it?
It's not too late! Start your 75 day challenge today! It's even a nice round number! Imagine how different something could be if you started (or even started over)today.

I hear you, Jill... so many vegetable servings... and so few hours in the day!
I MUST get to the grocery store tomorrow!... I've gone to great lengths to avoid the store... like 30 mins on the eliptical machine.
I always enjoy reading these posts... a lot of humor in the ups and downs of staying of plan for 90 days!

I got my walk in at lunch today and just made myself do my core stuff so I could tell you guys I did it! Thanks! So I'm at 150 minutes so far this week.
I haven't completely blown it for today but...I did not eat breakfast, big mistake, only coffee. Lunch out with friends, healthy sandwich, not so healthy fries. One sip of water, I have a long way to go to 10 glasses!!!! It is only 4:21PM, I still have about six hrs left before bed, that is @ one fruit/veg per hr., two glasses of water an hour. Summer Challenge Goals: 1) Walk 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week 2) Plan weekly menus
I've blown it today. I am not on plan and had a two squares of chocolate already today. I totally have the munchies and am really struggling right now. Part of the problem is that we have eaten dinner early (5ish) for the past 6 days. Tonight is the first night we aren't eating until 7 pm and my body is wanting to eat now.
If I do end up eating, it will be veggies, fruits and possibly some hummus. I have already compensated for my extra goodies by making much smaller dinnner portions for myself. Hopefully that will offset some of the calorie damage.
Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.
Still struggling to remember to put my fork down between bites. I've tried things like setting the oven timer and counting to 10 before picking up the fork again -- these things usually work only for a short time. But I'm sticking with it.
As for my first two baby steps, I did pack my lunch yesterday for the second day in a row. But I had dinner at about 8:20 last night because I went to a 7 p.m. exercise class that my trainer leads. I figured that was a pretty good reason to bend the "close-the-kitchen-by-8" rule.
By week #14, my posts are going to be really long if I keep reporting on every week's baby step! Let's hope they become habits soon.
I had Yoga this morning which was nice and had a light breakfast before since I knew I had my lunch date after class.
The lunch date was great and did half of a salad and sandwich. I am feeling good, not overly stuffed and am thinking of doing a turkey burger for dinner.

Today is my first full day back from my long weekend. I was really proud of a lot of decisions I made (including a gym session and a yoga class), but found as time went by and I didn't have access to this board, my motivation faded and my decisions became poorer and poorer. I even felt myself not wanting to get back on plan at all! That is when I picked myself up and said, nope you have to do something and you might as well keep on track :>
Tonight is Latin Groove and that is always fun! I am also picking up fresh produce on the way home so I have lots of good choices for dinner.
Have a great day! -k
Everything counts.

I really didn't want to get up this morning for work much less early to exercise, but I did! I will readily admit that I did not put my all into the workout today. I was sweating PROFUSELY even though the AC was cranking and I just felt miserable for some reason. Probably more mental/emotional than physical.
I am already feeling some mental relief from my decision to drive to Ohio on Friday vs. Thursday, giving myself Thursday at home to pack and clean up a bit and chill out, thus hopefully giving myself a little pressure valve between the job situation and the family situation.
Spoke to my mother and both brothers in the past 3 days and am hoping that this weekend does not turn into World War III.
Personal Healthy Habits Challenge - 10/1 to 12/31/08: 1. Exercise: Get back to consistently working out 3-5 X week. 2. Food: Get back to consistently preparing healthy lunches for the week with increased veg servings. 3. Behavior: Reduce intake of sweets.

Finally a day off from work.!! Thought I would post a plan so I don't waste away the day in front of the tv or something.
I need to get in at least 3 loads of laundry, and 5 fly sessions (I'll be online off and on today if anyone wants to fly later.) If I get those done I will treat myself with an afternoon nap
When dh leaves for work, I'll go for a walk. If i do, I'll treat myself with a manicure(home one)

I got up at 5.30 and walked for 45 minutes. (It is now pretty dark when I start.) I did upper back work with bands and even threw in: 3 sets of 8 each of: bicep curls tricep dips (killer for me) one arm rows I have been in an all or nothing mind set with weights (and exercise in general. This morning I knew I had only about 10-15 minutes, but really made the best of it. Peg and others who have been maintaining this thread... I really appreciate it and see that it has helped baby step me into at least 2 hours of added exercise last week and likely this week.
I must do core work too. I generally do that while dd is off playing after lunch. Will post when it is done.
Peg... Thank you so much for being the ultimate cheerleader!!
They had a ropes course and climbing wall at family camp. I didn't get up the courage to go try it until the last day... and several families must have gotten the same idea...
There was a "cat walk" which was an "H" made out of 3 telephone poles. (See catwalk example from some website.)
The guy that did the belayer, or safety person was soooo good. It reminded me of the quote for the day.

I watched another mom my age up there and he literally talked her up the pole and across the cat walk one or two baby steps at a time. Every two steps, she would say, "That's it. I'm coming down now. I can't go any higher or farther."
The belayer would say, "Hey Heidi... you've already climbed 3/4 of the way up... if you go up two more steps from where you are now... it isn't any real difference in height. Just go up two more steps." Then he would say, "Now that you are up the pole, you HAVE to walk one step out on to the cat walk... after all the work you did to climb all the way up the pole... you should at least experience one step on the catwalk..." He got her to do the entire catwalk... one baby step at a time!
After watching Heidi do it... I was ready to do it... but we ran out of time...
I was impressed with Heidi… but I was REALLY impressed with the belayer baby stepping everybody past their limits.
