I am slimmer than I think. I wore one of my mother's skirts to dinner last night. I just do not have the perception of myself as slim.

I am looking at myself through new eyes though, since then, and seeing that I am slim enough to carry things off better. I just need to keep that awareness with myself...

I've always had a problem with self-perception. I felt I looked fat even in the old days when I wasn't. Then when I was quite overweight, I denied it, saying I was just the same as usual. Not. And now that I've lost weight, I can see it, sort of, but I still can't see myself the way I really look.

I know what I've lost. I keep a measurement record, and if I compare the numbers from a year ago and now, it's obvious. I still have a hard time believing I could turn a blind eye to it for so many years.

It's funny, most of the time when I look in a mirror I just see what I expect to see. But sometimes, if I'm doing something different, like yoga, in front of the mirror, I'll really see what I look like.

I am sort of with you all- I see myself as heavier than I am, but then again- often times I do see myself as thin and have a good idea of my size.

It's been said that heavy people don't see themselves as thin even after all the work that they have done to get there. Somewhat like anorexics don't see themselves as thin as they are. Scary. That is why I read that taking pics of yourself at intervals of five lbs, 10 lbs if yu have a lot to loose is a good deal, you can post them and see the changes....so that helps you get used to the idea of being thinner. Just a thought.

It's never too late to get it right.

Me three.

Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.

Likewise for me too. I definitely don't see what others do.

Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.

my self-perception is defnitely not in line with what others tell me about my appearance. clothes are a good marker, eh?

Goals:
1. Stop thinking like a chronic dieter and start living to inspire.
2. HALT (hungry, anxious, lonely, tired) I will stop and tune in with myself should I experience these things, and respond with something healthy.
3. One word 2008: courage
4. Eat slow and mindfully.
