In the theme of keeping it ligt, lately I have been searching the web for health, nutrition and fitness information. I have found some great sites, but more often than not I have come across junk. For today's homework, I thought we could pick one or two (or more if you are up to it) of your favorite web resources to share with the gang! What is so great about this site that keeps you going back over and over again? What are some of your tricks at sorting through all the junk on the web?

I am forever searching the web for new recipes to help me clear out my fridge and freezer. It seems that no matter how many cookbooks I have I usually find what I am looking for on foodtv.ca or foodtv.com. Being a foodtv addict, I seem to go back to the same chefs over and over again and they have not failed me yet.

The other site which I find useful, especially when entertaining is mealsforyou.com they have all sorts of great menu ideas.

I am still working through all the infor the web has too offer about health and fitness. I am looking forward to reading others tips baout how to find the good stuff.

Enjoy every minute!

Jennifer

I come here for "one stop shopping" so to speak. Most of the people that post here are great about sharing other info they have read. Sheltieguy, Denise, Bee, Trigirl and others are very good about posting links.

I have run across info elsewhere that I share too, but mostly this is my favorite site for health and cooking related topics.

Bee,
Thanks for the site on women and weights. IT looks great. I keep going back to not knowing exactly what to do and kind of putting a routine together.
I bookmarked the site and will take time to read it when I do more weight stuff as the weather changes.

Wonderful original idea, Jen!

I am not all that web-savvy, but I do find myself going to http://www.cookinglight.com every time I am looking for a recipe by it's main ingredients. Like, I have asparagus, what should I do with it! I especially like seeing the nutritional break-down on every recipe. Although I'm not a calorie counter, I do keep a mental balance sheet throughout a period of days. I also love to search cycling and triathlon forums and articles, like http://www.beginnertriathlete.com

For eating out - which I don't do as often (by far) as I used to - I like Dottie's Weight Loss Zone:

http://www.dwlz.com/restaurants.html

Next I like Susan Nicholson's site - she is a nutritionist:

http://www.uexpress.com/7daymenuplanner/

Then I discovered the Recipe Dr. Her site seems to have disappeared, but you can still find recipes here:

I like drweil.com and discoveryhealth.com. My only beef with drweil.com is to take part in the Optimal Health Plan you have to pay. But both sites have some really great info.
