I have to say, it was a hell of a week to start the new year.

DH got mugged. He's fine; I'm a wreck.

My best friend had emergency surgery for an ectopic pregnancy. She is also fine.

Another friend had to confront her drug-addicted stepson.

My cousin lost her job -- one that she left another lucrative position to accept just four months ago.

Oh yeah, and there was an earthquake.

Except for the robbery, none of this affects me directly, but I am feeling a little emotionally wrung out. I'm holding it together for DS's sake (didn't tell him about what happened to his dad) and my friend's daughter (who knows her mom had surgery but doesn't really know why). I have to hope the next 51 weeks in 2010 go a lot better.

Thanks, everyone. Your support means a lot to me.

Already this week is better. We got through Monday without a single crisis!

Big hugs Susan. That is a lot and all way too close to home.

Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.

Oh Susan, I am so sorry. I too hope the next 51 weeks are MUCH better for you.

Sending hugs and prayers for you and your family and friends.

Jill

I have no specific goal(s) right now. I am trying to find the spiritual side of myself that I lost somewhere along the way.

Oh, Susan!

Hugs and hugs and hugs. The mugging would be more than enough for me.

Whew...that's a lot of stress and bad news in one week. I'm with you in hoping that the rest will be a piece of cake in comparison.
