We had snow. Then we got slush. Now we have something in between.

Still no exercise.

I plan on trying some green smoothies. I need an energy boost.

Yea!! Good job Sheri-I don't see the gym in my future this week but starting on Saturday when my crazy schedule calms down I am going.

Due to the snow, bad roads and parking conditions, I didn't get to the gym during and after the last 2 snowstorms. That turned into "I'll start back tomorrow" or "I'll start back on Monday" and now it's probably been 3-4 weeks since I've been to the gym.

Until then, I'd been doing BETTER with the gym than I did last year--getting to the gym 3 X week vs. 2. So this has been a frustrating setback. How hard it is to build a habit and how easy it is to break it!

Today is the day...I'm going back to the gym.

Challenges? Where do I begin?

Right now I feel very run down and in ill health somehow. My first challenge is to tweak my daily meals in a healthier direction. It feels as if what I eat is sapping my energy. I was on vacation all of last week and spent the whole time blowing my nose - literally, as I was nursing a cold.

I like lots of snow as opposed to lots of slush, but it does cramp my style a bit since walking is difficult and I don't have proper outdoor walking shoes. Going to the gym or pool is nice but involves extra effort -- now there's another challenge.

For this month, I want to work on my own brand of emotional eating -- a sort of food-as-procrastination thing I do. I tend to keep eating to prolong meals (especially breakfast and lunch) and put off tasks I'd rather not do. I also use food as a way to make unpleasant duties more tolerable -- as in, I can get through this tax questionnaire/phone call/bill paying/spreadsheet completion/whatever if I have something sweet to munch on. I've tried lots of ways to break these habits, but still they persist. I may just have to white-knuckle it for a while.

My hope for March is better weather that will allow me to get out and walk. My dogs need it as much as I do. I still plan to hit the gym 3x/wk but want to walk every day as well. I feel like I've been inside the house so long and I am very ready for sunshine and fresh air.

i cannot believe it is march already.

started off this morning with a great workout, then a healthy breakfast.so far, so good.

i have to be gone march 9 and 10, and march 11 will be jammed packed with appointments. so i may miss 3 days of workouts, so my goals is to go to the gym every day until march 9th.
