Interesting. I'm not toooooo worried though..
LEAFY GREENS: 363 outbreaks involving 13,568 reported cases of illness

EGGS: We buy ours from a couple of friends who have chickens.

TUNA: Hardly ever eat it.

OYSTERS: Pretty much never eat them.

POTATOES: I do eat these. Tried growing them and failed.

CHEESE: I do love cheese. But am trying to limit intake due to sat fat content.

ICE CREAM: Make my own.

TOMATOES: Trying (again!) to grow my own.

SPROUTS: YUCK!

BERRIES: I do stock up on strawberries and blueberries in the Summer.

I suppose I could live on SPAM, wild rice, and Nut Goodie bars. Smiler

One thing that I do do, is try to avoid any food that is from China. Who knows what kind of junk is in their farmed seafood, etc.

I guess that's where growing a huge garden and canning and freezing come in.

It is one of Discovery's networks.
If you go to www.discovery.com
and scroll almost to the bottom it has links to all their networks, including Planet Green.

When you get to Planet Green's website they have links to videos of various shows (top righthand side of screen).

Focus Earth has interesting programs.

Greensburg is about Greensburg Kansas's recovery process from the horrific tornado that wiped out 95% of the town a few years ago. They decided to rebuild totally green.

G Word is a variety show and profiles very interesting products and programs. That is where I learned about www.terracycle.net the company that uses waste to produce all sorts of useable products. We use their "worm poop" Wink and other gardening supplies.

Living With Ed (Ed Bagley Jr.) is very funny but also informative. Bill Nye is on this one but also has a show of his own called

Stuff Happens.
He explains the consequences of what we do.
One thing he said that I don't agree with is that the average American uses 10 rolls of toilet paper in a year. I think that number is way low. I know our family of 4 uses a lot more than 40 rolls in one year.

Two of my favorite shows are:
Renovation Nation - staring Steve Thomas from This Old House

and

World's Greenest Homes

And of course as Coaster Girl previously mentioned, Emeril's new show Emeril Green is on here.
It is filmed inside Whole Foods and he helps individual people with their food problems. Problems like, I have to start cooking gluten free, or I am a vegetarian and my husband is not so how do I cook one meal that will satisfy us both. Or, my kids are picky eaters, etc, etc.
I like him much better on this show than I ever did on FN. Not a BAM! in sight Wink

yes, it is Linda. Emeril's new show is there. Along with some other interesting shows, including Bill Nye (the Science Guy).

Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.

I don't go to farmer's markets, but at the grocery store, I do give preference to locally grown produce. I understand that Rachael Ray's favorite brand of hummis is made by a family owned business here. I will have to give it a try sometimes.

Just another reason to grow your own or purchase from a farmer you know Smiler.

We have really enjoyed our trips to the farmer's markets around here this past summer.

Do you know where your food comes from?

Saw this earlier and knew you'd be on top of it, Sheltie! Oysters are the only item on the list not purchased by this household. Sprouts and Ice Cream to much lesser amounts than the other items. Yikes!
