It is one of Discovery's networks. If you go to www.discovery.com and scroll almost to the bottom it has links to all their networks, including Planet Green.
When you get to Planet Green's website they have links to videos of various shows (top righthand side of screen).
Focus Earth has interesting programs.
Greensburg is about Greensburg Kansas's recovery process from the horrific tornado that wiped out 95% of the town a few years ago. They decided to rebuild totally green.
G Word is a variety show and profiles very interesting products and programs. That is where I learned about www.terracycle.net the company that uses waste to produce all sorts of useable products. We use their "worm poop" and other gardening supplies.
Living With Ed (Ed Bagley Jr.) is very funny but also informative. Bill Nye is on this one but also has a show of his own called
Stuff Happens. He explains the consequences of what we do. One thing he said that I don't agree with is that the average American uses 10 rolls of toilet paper in a year. I think that number is way low. I know our family of 4 uses a lot more than 40 rolls in one year.
Two of my favorite shows are: Renovation Nation - staring Steve Thomas from This Old House
and
World's Greenest Homes
And of course as Coaster Girl previously mentioned, Emeril's new show Emeril Green is on here. It is filmed inside Whole Foods and he helps individual people with their food problems. Problems like, I have to start cooking gluten free, or I am a vegetarian and my husband is not so how do I cook one meal that will satisfy us both. Or, my kids are picky eaters, etc, etc. I like him much better on this show than I ever did on FN. Not a BAM! in sight This message has been edited. Last edited by: BrenauMom,

Planet Green has a new show starting I think on Monday (Oct 12) called the 100 Mile Challenge. Everything you eat can only come from 100 miles away or less.

They should try this in the landlocked snow belt, in the winter. Now that would be a challenge.
I suppose I could live on SPAM, wild rice, and Nut Goodie bars.
One thing that I do do, is try to avoid any food that is from China. Who knows what kind of junk is in their farmed seafood, etc.
I don't go to farmer's markets, but at the grocery store, I do give preference to locally grown produce. I understand that Rachael Ray's favorite brand of hummis is made by a family owned business here. I will have to give it a try sometimes.

Just another reason to grow your own or purchase from a farmer you know .
We have really enjoyed our trips to the farmer's markets around here this past summer.

Saw this earlier and knew you'd be on top of it, Sheltie! Oysters are the only item on the list not purchased by this household. Sprouts and Ice Cream to much lesser amounts than the other items. Yikes!
