My sis and husband coming in and bringing lobsters he caught himself. He is fixing them for us for dinner on wednesday. What do you fix with that?? His answer was beer. Can anybody help me? Thank you. Michelle
How about roasted red potatoes with garlic and rosemary, and some broiled asparagus? Potatoes: parboil them halfway, then cut in half or quarters (depends on size), toss them with olive oil, crushed garlic and rosemary and salt, and bake in a 425 oven for 20 mins or til browned. Asparagus: use a potato peeler to remove the tough outer area at the end, then cut in half, toss with olive oil, salt & pepper or herb blend of choice, broil until lightl browned and tender(watch them: broiler temps vary greatly, and turn them halfway). You won't believe how tender and sweet asparagus is prepared this way! Salad or coleslaw would round it out nicely, plus sourdough or artisan bread. Yum!

Maybe a healthier version of creamy coleslaw? You can buy the shredded cabbage in the produce dept., I add a very small amount of LF mayo and some rice vinegar, a little salt and pepper. Red skin potatoes with fresh parsley and some spray butter(no calories!). Enjoy the lobsters! Jill
Summer Challenge Goals: 1) Walk 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week 2) Plan weekly menus
If it's just straight up boiled with melted butter, then pair it with some steamed veggies, a salad, or a slaw dressed with a lemoney vinegrette, and/or maybe a simple pasta side (pasta tossed with grated cheese, pepper, and a wee bit of EVOO). Corn on the cob is pretty traditional, too, but I doubt you'll find it fresh this time of year--maybe some frozen corn kernels tossed with other fresh veggies, steamed.
(I maybe a vegetarian, but I lived on Cape Cod for 2 summers. I've had my shared of lobster.)
Fall goals: 1. Bike 40-50 miles a week 2. Prepare new garden bed for next season 3. Heal my back

I immediately thought NE clam bake - boiled lobster, potatoes, and corn. Or since corn isn't in season, you could do a chowder.
Be sure to skip the butter and go for lemon with your lobster. If you are trying to save calories, that will help greatly and lemon is wonderful on fresh lobster.
Enjoy! I'm jealous!

Well, you could make some linguine with clam sauce. At the grocery, you would look for clam broth. Buy a couple of bottles, some canned clams or some lump crab meat (or both). Saute garlic, olive oil,1 cup white wine, throw in rinsed clams and or crab and clam broth. Add some salt, pepper, and chopped parsley and serve over linguine. Some nice asparagus that has been sauteed in garlic and olive oil, then chilled and sprinkled with lemon juice, salt and pepper.
