We are nine days away from Christmas, and 16 from the first of the year. Everyone take a deep cleansing breath. I'll bet if you are like me, you have been running around, shopping, shopping, programs, concerts, parties, etc.
Maybe (hopefully) you have been eating healthy, getting some exercise into your day...but then again if you are like me -- NOT!

I don't make resolutions for the new year, I learned from years of doing it that I fail by Jan 15 anyway, so why make my brain and my soul go through the process. I take a look at what I am doing now, and what I want to make different in my life. I set that as a challenge to change two things in my life before my birthday....and then on my birthday, which just happens to be six months away from now; I re evaulate and set two more challenges. I refuse to mull over these challenges day by day, I review them every so often, I adjust to fit how far I've come, but I am not going to punish myself over them.

I have three challenges for Ct'er's this year....I think we can do it, many of us have done things a lot harder. First, is to make sure that you are taking time for you in your daily life. I mean quality, best-friend type of time.Maybe just 10 minutes where you are your own best friend...if you would do something for a friend, do it for you. My second, is something that we do well, and that is encouraging each other. Encourage yourself, pat yourself on the back. We have ups and downs, we have adversity and joys, but do we thank us, do we give ourselves a high five for small things that improve our lives? And the last thing is to pick out one person on the boards desire for help, and be a help to them. WE are good at that, but, let's be better. Let's pick one person, not the same person everyday, but one person, to say, "You're on the right track, or yeah for you" What you sow comes back to you....

Have a great Tuesday....the sun is shining here in South Dakota, first time in weeks. It is going to be a good day!

I don't really make resolutions so much as usually trying to set a few goals for the year. I have fallen so far away from doing this in a real way in my day to day life. I'm sure part of that is because I am soooo focused on food and exercise but I think it is time to start figuring out how to do this AND some of the other things that need to get done in my life. I hope to have some time to myself between Christmas and New Year's to settle on a few goals for 2005. I like your plan of 6 mos increments Cathy. Sounds like a good thing to think about doing myself.
