I figured we should have an I love thread - a place to come and share new discoveries, old loves and new passions.
I love that a young start up web site written for women by women for the purpose of empowering women reached out and asked for a recipe today. I am SO pro networking. It's one of the most gracious gifts we have to offer one another.
I am deeply thankful for all the women in my life who've given me a hand up. Paying their graciousness forward is the best way I know to honor their generosity. The site is savvymiss.com and I wish them well!
Had 11 families from school join us today to pick all of our pumpkins which DH and I donate to all the kids at my school(about 450).
It was a foggy day, but not too cold and it was a great sight to watch
They are all washed and packed in the bins on the pumpkin express (our big truck) ready for delivery.
DH takes a personal day and drives them down and each class comes out to him to get their pumpkin. This will be our 7th year and it is sooooo much fun The kids love it...even the older ones who act soooo cool

Goal: Exercise at least 3 times per week.
Remember the positives.

The way the maple trees turn the most magnificent shade of orange-red...
Today on my afternoon walk, I saw a blue jay land on one of these vibrant red trees and it's wings made the most spectacular contrast against the tree. I really, really wish I had my camera with me!
Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.
My family, my friends, our pets and our home. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I love our way of life.
I love DS's little sayings, seeing the world through his eyes and watching him grow and learn every day. I love the way he worships his Daddy. I love it when he "cooks" with me and says "I'm a cooker Momma!! I'm a good cooker!!!" I love it that he is healthy and active.
I love how quiet the world seems when it snows. That is a very rare thing down here but I do love it when it happens.
I love the first signs of life in the spring. I am overjoyed when I see my lilies start to poke out of the soil.
I love being outdoors and I love flowers and flower beds. I love lilies, dianthas and roses. I love and charish the two rose bushes that I dug up from the home I grew up in. They are thriving here now and recovered from their transplant much quicker than I thought they would.
I also took cuttings from a "Snow Ball Hydrangea" bush that was from my family home. The people who purchased the home told me before hand that they were going to "do away" with all the landscaping and for me to take what ever I wanted. I dug up two rose bushes and some lilies and took cutting from the hydrangea bush. From the cuttings, three look like they are going to make it and I LOVE that!!! I don't want to loose these.
I love the smell of fresh chopped herbs.
I love the smell of coffee in the mornings.
I love the way the sun shines into my kitchen in the mornings.
I love seeing the evening star.
I love walking and running here on the farm and everything I see..all the plants and wildlife.
I love rainbows.
I love the sound of rain and love to watch a nice, steady down pour.
I love the way I feel AFTER a good workout!! LOL!! I love the way I feel during a good workout when I am staying on plan. I love how good it feels to stretch.
I love a nice, warm bubble bath.
I love citrus, cinnamon and vanilla scents.
There is a small pond in a pasture in front of our home. You can see it out of all the front windows and we have a really good view from our breakfast area. When DH doesn't have cattle in those pastures the deer will come down to the pond. We watched a HERD of deer one morning grazing and drinking from the pond. There were some younger deer in the herd that seemed to be playing chase around it while I noticed some of the older ones seemed to be "keeping guard". It was a beautiful site.
Mountains: their sheer majesty, the beauty of our planet
Christmas: baking cookies, feeling that life is just a little more magical
Fresh Produce clothing! Love their colors, logos, etc.
Cookbooks: I have zillions of them, nutrition and diet; vegetarian (though I'm not one); seasonal cooking; Japanese cooking; tofu and bean cooking ...
Travel: Going to other countries and getting immersed in other cultures ... Taking long drives through California and Oregon and enjoying the beauty of our country ... Buying souvenirs and stuff to bring back!
Cats ... for all their quirky ways and their beauty
Music: Pink Floyd, U2, John Lennon
Weather in all its extreme forms... snowstorms, thunder and lightning... The stars, the moon, and the night sky

When dh and I were engaged, let's just say it was a bumpy road, since we do have different tastes in what we like. So we were out visiting some of my family out west and I fell in love with my aunt's everyday dishes.
WELL...she got them at Target. Right away we jumped online TOGETHER and decided they were worth getting for ourselves. I have to tell you we still love them.
I often tell dh we could furnish our whole house with Target. I think we both agree on that too.

I love Target too, but it's too easy to drop $100 in there, so I stay away. One nice thing about my boonieville town is that I rarely shop, and I find that if I don't go into the stores, I really don't get the lust to buy things that hits me as soon as I enter an upscale mall.
