Twice a month we have a Women's Group that meets at the Y. It is moderated by a "Life Coach". Last weeks topic was "Inspiration" so I will ask you the same thing she asked us (all 2 of us )
Kindness is a biggie to me. When people are kind, I feel very much inspired to act rightly and to take positive action.
I'm also inspired by good food- everything from the best berries to a well prepared meal.
More and more I am inspired by people at my gym who push themselves. I love seeing and experiencing that!
My health concerns inspire me. I know I have an opportunity to avoid what's befallen some of my family members. I am blessed and grateful beyond belief.
i totally agree with jilly and sheri. i would also add that people who have found that "balance" in their lives also inspire me, since i struggle with that all or nothing thinking. i love to read about people who have more flexibility.
Goals: 1. Enjoy life! 2. Be aware, be awake, pay attention. 3. One word 2010: faith

Much like Jill's post, I am most inspired by people who have lived through almost unimaginable (to me) hardships and come out with dignity and honor. Tenacity is a word I use a lot to describe people like this.
I recently finished a wonderful memoir by a white man who grew up in what is now Zimbabwe. The injustices & atrocities that his parents and others--both native Africans and whites-- who tenaciously remained in their homes experienced while everything was going crazy around them were unimaginable to me. While there was a LOT of darkness in the events he wrote about, what shone through for me was the light of that tenaciousness...the spirit to survive...to say "This is MY HOME and you are not going to intimidate me into leaving it."
I can only hope to be so brave.

I am inspired by success stories-not just weight loss stories but stories about anyone overcoming a hardship and improving theirs or someone else's lives. Reading or seeing these stories makes me want to do more with my own life, and do more for other people.
I especially love to read about kids who have overcome difficult life circumstances and go on to become productive and successful adults. I have a soft spot for children, especially for those who have gone through diseases, abuse, etc. and I am amazed at the strength that so many of them have.
I am working hard at following through on what I say I want out of life-obtaining a new college degree, finding a new career, getting healthy-because I hope to be an inspiration to my own daughter.
Jill
I have no specific goal(s) right now. I am trying to find the spiritual side of myself that I lost somewhere along the way.
The board has been very slow so thanks Judy for posting a homework question.
My single most important inspiration remains my family. I want to give my daughter the best shot of growing up with a healthy mom who can do fun stuff.
KD and Bob Greene were my professional inspriations.
Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.
I said KD inspired me to get healthy during my recovery from the cancer and the bone marrow transplant. I shared with them her cookbooks and told them about Cooking Thin and the PBS pledge special. I also shared with them some of my favorite music from my past and Hudi's electric violin music. (I will be seeing and hearing him in person this weekend at the Pow Wow)
