Explanatory Notes for New Folks:
1. The Group Journal was created to give everyone a place to post things that perhaps they didn't want to start a new thread about, but just wanted to get off their chest. It can be used by anyone for any reason--celebrate your successes, vent your frustrations, ask questions, ask for support, whatever you need to do...that's what the journal is for!

2. Because the original Group Journal got very large and unwieldy to read, we decided that we'd cut off each Journal as it reached 70 posts and then create a new one. This Journal is called "Group Journal #38" because it is the 38th such post since the Journal was created.

3. When the Journal was created, we agreed that things posted here didn't necessarily require a response. Sometimes you just want to report or vent but don't really expect a reply. Other times, you may want feedback. Feedback is fine here, just not required/expected.

4. To make each Journal different from the next, I began creating theme journals, just as if our "virtual" online journal here was an actual paper journal we were writing our thoughts in. So, while I post the Journal threads, I often write them as if I was the Journal character. It's silly but folks seem to enjoy it.

Hey there. I'm Candy...Candy Cane. I'm your winter and holiday journal. My journal cover is bright red with a beautiful cut-out of a white snowflake. Inside, my pages are white with red lines. The lower corner of each page is decorated with holiday and winter stuff--like candy canes, snowflakes, wrapped gifts, Christmas trees, dreidels, etc.

Your journal is on that dark polished wood table waiting for your words. The silly rubber pen is a candy cane and, as usual, a slim silver ballpoint is provided for those who can't see themselves writing with a silly rubber pen!

Enjoy your Journal!

Controls Your Club Face

Your grip controls your club face at impact. Supposing that you want to hit your golf golf ball relatively straight, you really must have a good grip. A good grip for a right-handed golfer involves being able to see the logo on your left-hand glove taylormade burner superfast 2.0 fairway wood or, in other words, two to three knuckles. The more you turn your hands to the best, and yes I mean both, the less likely you are to slice. I do not mind going to extremes in order to accomplish the desired golf ball flight. When you make your backswing, your left underarm should swing taylormade burner 2.0 irons across your chest in a lightly connected position. This will help you to keep your club face square to the path and in addition prompt your shoulders to turn.

My nerves are totally shot:

I went to the vet, just to pick up some drugs. As I started back home, I had a complete and total brake failure.

To get to a repair garage that I was familiar with, I had to drive on one busy highway, then a second busy highway, then a third busy highway, then a residential road with two stop lights.

In some areas I had a full shoulder to drive on, in some areas I had a partial shoulder to drive on, and in some areas I had no shoulder to drive on. I put my car into first gear, drove very slowly, and held my breath. The on/off ramps, shoulderless areas, and stop lights were particularly "exciting".

I have never been so happy to see an auto repair garage in my entire life. It turns out that my brake lines sprung a leak, so I didn't have any brake fluid.

According to the L.L. Bean catalog we just recieved, it's now Spring.

Hmmmmm. The one-foot-plus snow cover in the back yard tends to differ.Smiler

This year, my precious doggie really needed his snowblower potty trail system.

I have a combination Carbon Monoxide / Explosive Gas detector in my bedroom.

The other day, it went off at about 4AM. It uses AC current and is extremely loud. When it went off, I had to peel myself off the the ceiling.Smiler That is not a good way to start the day, particularly when a house that is about a mile away recently exploded, due to a natural gas leak.

Anyway, the Emergency Gas Man came, and everything checked out fine. The alarm must have been defective.

He recently had to go to an eye specialist, but that problem is apparently treatable. At least he didn't have an eye tumor or a detached retina.

Glad it was nothing serious with his eye. I am ready for some snow here but none in the forecast Frowner

I have no specific goal(s) right now. I am trying to find the spiritual side of myself that I lost somewhere along the way.

I finally got out to my favorite park reserve, for a brisk 3.5 mile walk.

Due to a long list of bad circumstances, I haven't done that in a LONG time.

One of my friends (actually the partner of one of my best friends) is battling Stage 3 lung cancer this spring. He lost weight before he ever started chemo just from the stress of what was going to happen as he had long waits to see the oncologist and to get results from tests.

It could be with all the waiting YOU'VE had to get your diagnosis, stress may be the culprit as well. Just something to think about.

Second and third opinions can't hurt anything. I think I would do that too.

I also can relate to throwing yourself into something you can control.

You remain in my thoughts and prayers daily.

Big hugs!

I've lost four pounds since I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Either I'm really sick and no one is telling me the truth (which is highly unlikely, I think) or something else is going on.

I've been working out A LOT, even for me. It feels like one thing I can do to take back my health and to make sure I'm as strong as possible going into surgery. And, as I told my husband after a session with my trainer, it's a whole hour in my day when I don't think about cancer.

I've also been a bit manic about eating leafy greens, dark orange fruits and veggies, and omega-threes -- all the stuff recommended to keep cancer at bay. Chard, sweet potatoes, salmon, kale, yellow peppers, spinach, walnuts, oranges. Can't get enough. Of course, that's the healthy diet I should have been following all along, but you have to start from where you are, right?

Surgery is tentatively scheduled for May 5. I've gotten a second opinion that agreed with the first. I have an appointment for a third opinion next week, but I'm not sure I'm going to keep it -- what do I think/hope the third doc is going to tell me?

Just a quick vent and update.
