If you vote today, Star Bucks will give you a free cup of coffee...
Depends how many lines you want to stand in...
Every time I see the news and hear about Ohio, Virginia, Florida, Colorado... It occurs to me how many people on this board live (or used to live) in swing states. (Is Iz in No. or So. Carolina?)
I wonder what that means? Swing state voters are naturally drawn together...

I live in Indiana and this election was the first election in my lifetime, not just voting age time, LIFETIME that Indiana has been a swing state. It was kind of amazing for Indiana to actually count.
It took me an hour (car door to car door) to vote yesterday. The line wasn't really even very long, but there were only 2 machines for our precinct. The other precinct at our polling site had no line at all. DH worked the poll and said our's had a line all day, and the other one never had a line.

I got an absentee ballot. When I ran past the high school near my house, there really weren't a lot of people hanging around, so it must not have been too bad.
I'm just thankful that the ads, the mudslinging and all the soon to be empty promises are over with.
Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.
Don and I are going tonight to vote on our way to take our son to Youth group. We normally vote by absentee ballot, but we procrastinated too long, so we are going to go in and do it this evening. We have until 8 pm, but will be going around 6:30ish.....should be nice and packed! I hope it is anyhow! Our county traditionally has a low voter turnout, I REALLY hope that our county isn't apathetic about this election. I have many reasons to believe that this is probably THE most important election of my generation up to this point....esp. here in CA.
Blessings,
Lori

Our district does not allow homemade food at bake sales or holiday parties.
I actually agree with the policy and have been witness to some pretty groady food. You don't really know who doesn't wash hands, let their cats lick the butter, leaves food sit out over night, drops on floor, etc., etc.

Starbuck's wasn't the only chain with this idea, apparently. You can get free Krispy Kremes, Ben & Jerry's, or Chick-fil-A, just because it's Election Day. I love America!
My elementary school was our local polling place. The PTA usually held a bake sale on Election Day, and really raked it in. Hope these giveaways aren't damaging any fundraising efforts. Or does anyone even do bake sales any more?

Ours has been ringing for about a year now... or at least since the first primary. Everytime it is "the unkown caller", we know that it is Obama wanting more $$$.
I had zero waiting time at 11am.

It was pouring rain here this morning when I took the puppy out and I thought "Oh no..." but by the time I procrastinated a while and took a shower and all, it had stopped raining. Good thing, too, cuz I had a 45-minute wait, much of which was outside (the line was around the fire station when I got there).

I've now lived in 2 of those states (born and raised in Ohio and lived most of my adult life in Virginia). I don't suppose there is must chance of my current state (Delaware) becoming a swing state, but then again, a potential Vice President is a Delaware Senator!
