If you have chosen to participate in the Challenge (see thread titled "Summer Se7en Challeng Anyone?" for more details) and you wish to start this week, this thread is the place where you post your goals and your success at meeting them (there will be a thread like this for every week of the 7-week challenge). You should also post here if you are struggling with meeting your goals and need some support and/or accountability.

As noted in the other thread, this is not a competition and we each pick the goals that are doable and meaningful for us. So if others are making a goal of posting their food or losing X pounds in X weeks and you don't want to, you don't have to. We all choose our goals and we all work individually toward meeting them, but with the group accountability and support of posting here.

For those that are new to our challenges, I find it VERY helpful to put your goals in your siggy line (aka tagline)...that way, they will appear in EVERY message you post, not just the ones you post in here. When we have done challenges in the past, seeing my goals with every message I post has gone a long way to keeping them present in my mind and helping to keep me accountable to them.

If you need help on putting your goals in your siggy, use the find feature to search for the thread called "Help for Newbies" which gives instructions on that.

Thanks for joining me!
Sheri

1.Log food each day to monitor staying at 1300 calories per day.
I didn't do well on the calories, but I did log every day. The accountability helped me do better as we week went on.

2. Exercise 3x per week (4x is a bonus)
I made it to the gym 3 times this week.

3.Get up at 6:30 each day - no snooze!!
I'll work on this one this week!

Healthy Habits Challenge Goals:
1.Log food each day to monitor staying at 1300 calories per day.
2. Exercise 4x per week (5x is a bonus)

Week 1 results:

Goal 1 - Get back to exercise 3X week to start.

Done! Got in 3 workouts.

Goal 2 - Eat out only once per week.

Done! Didn't even eat out in a restaurant this week as I usually do as I was home sick on Friday, but I did get a slice of pizza from the grocery store so I considered that my 1 time eating out.

Goal 3 - Get in some solo FLY time 2X week.

Some done. I did FLY solo 3 times but it was all in the same day--yesterday mid afternoon, early evening and late at night--so I guess I'll only give myself credit for 1 time this week. Smiler

Amy,
I have used the Bare Escentuals makeup, not the eyeshadow but the foundation, blush, mineral veil, and some bronzer thing, and I have the Buki brush and the other brush for applying the blush, etc. I LOVE these products. I bought the starter kit in December and just ran out of the foundations this week. Even though the stuff is a little pricey it is 100% worth it. My skin looks better, and when I wear the BE makeup I get a lot of compliments on my skin. Give the eyeshadow a try, I highly recommend her products.

i have figured out how to get my motivation. instead of buying the whole kit- every time I meet my goal for a week I will buy one shadow. It will be more expensive in the long run but I think it will be a good motivator. I may bank the first month and buy the kit- depends if I get to the store to buy them. anyway- i thought that would be a good way to make it work. I do love their other stuff. I went a bit gonzo a few months ago and bought myself a mothers day present. I kind of got hooked.

I was just sitting outside thinking about my goals.....i realized that i do better w/ 'do' goals vs. 'don't' goals. So 'don't eat DS stuff' makes me think about it and want to eat it all the more. So I will be sticking w/ the drink more water. I have to think what the other goals are. I am trying to walk more but I can't put that into a goal at present. I noticed some folks have some non-weight related goals. so I think my 2nd one will be FLYing to get my back room moved to the basement. We painted the back room this winter and we moved everything there to another room which looks like a before picture from clean sweep. that will cause some serious running up and down stairs. I am still going to try and not snack outside of sitting down to eat- but I need to put that into a positive goal vs. a negative. one. I am going to eat a veg or fruit w/ every meal or snack. That really does help me fill my belly and I bought a bunch of stuff at the market. I was going thru KDs journal thru week 11 and found several recipies that looked really yummy...will re-write my siggy in a bit.

I just did 45 minutes of solo FLYing--15 minutes in the livingroom, 15 in the kitchen and 15 in the dining room. Now I'm taking a break cuz I'm hot and sweaty!

One solo FLY down!

Week 1 has been trying. I had a gain at the scales, but am back on program. I journaled which was good for me, I saw the places I was missing, definitely fruits and vegetables, and water. All the things I had targeted for my challenge.
I am under a great deal of anger right now, and don't really know how to deal with it, because it is a protective defense. So I will have to fight NOT eating, and then EATING the best things for me. I didn't expect that this challenge would offer me such a big chance to change things.
On to Week 2

Summer Challenge Goals:

1. Get out of the house and in the pool four days a week.
2. Schedule meals a week at a time.
3. five fruits and vegetables a day, along with water.

Got in my third workout this morning--just returned from a nice long walk of just over an hour. So I'm done on the workout goal, hopefully done on the eating-out goal, but still have a lot of work to do on the solo FLYing goal, which I will get started on today.

Summer Se7en Challenge Goals:
1. Add back core & toning work + weight work 1X each per week to start.
2. Tackle the Sugar Monster--Have a sugar free mint after lunch and dinner, wait 20 minutes, and reassess the need for a sweet treat.

Goal Update:

Have 2 of my 3 workouts done...3rd will be Saturday a.m.

I was home sick Friday which is my usual eat-out day, but I did get a slice of pizza from the hot-food section of the grocery story when I went this evening to get food for the weekend, so that counts as my 1 time eating out this week.

I have struck out so far on the solo FLYtime. I have had it in my mind a few times but didn't follow through. My plan is to get some solo FLYtime in on Saturday afternoon, after my walk.

Summer Se7en Challenge Goals:
1. Add back core & toning work + weight work 1X each per week to start.
2. Tackle the Sugar Monster--Have a sugar free mint after lunch and dinner, wait 20 minutes, and reassess the need for a sweet treat.

I've done OK today... just stopped typing to go get a glass of water. i'm still noshing but on blueberries and radishes. My body seems to be out of wack....this is kind of personal but wondered if this is a pre-menopose thing.... I have my period..then a day later I get it again for a bit. This has happened for some time...but today after having it 1X, stopping, having for a day, stopping...it started again. ARG! This is so strange. I'm going to go to the store and buy a steak for dinner because I feel like I am so tired I can't move. I just took Andrew for a wagon ride just to make myself get up. I am soooooooo tired...on 9 hours of sleep. thoughts? was gonna post this in a journal here but this is definately hindering in my challenge...

Today is my "Saturday", but I've made it to the gym, so my 3x this week are in. I'm at 4 days in the garden, and I have to water things this evening, so I'll hit my 5x for that.

Haircut tonight (I have a tendency to put those off. The woman I see is wonderful, but pricey, and this is one of those areas I'm trying to work on. It's my HAIR. I have to look at it every day. It's worth the money. So I went two months this time between haircuts instead of the 4 or 5 I usually go.), and after that, a massage. The boyfriend went to Orlando to see his dad and will be back late tonight, so I've had a good day unwinding. Only three loads of laundry...but geez, D, bring the stuff in from the laundry room, wouldya?

Erm...how about I do your kitchen, Denise, and you can put up the laundry? Big Grin

This weekend is going to be rough. I don't think I can possibly stay within my points because I'll have very little control over the menu for the next few days. I am going to just do the good, better, best thing and make sure that I don't eat more than I really want to. Sometimes you can only do what you can do.

Hope Jason feels hungry for cake tonight so you don't have to look at it for much longer. Smiler They sound delicious.
