This "recipe" is a great way to make your skin super smooth and silky. This is a body scrub that is every bit as good as the scrubs you get at orgins and very inexpensive to boot. I use store brands to make this recipe (makes it super cheap)

1 container plain salt
Olive oil
essential oils of choice
1 medium ziploc container.

Pour container of salt into Ziploc container.
Pour olive oil into salt and gently mix with a spoon adding more olive oil until you have a nice paste. I usually add enough oil that there's a little bit sitting on the top of the salt when I stop stirring.

I split it into smaller batches (I have a bunch of tightly sealing jars that I keep in the bathroom just for this purpose) and then add different essential oils to each of the jars.
If you are pregnant or trying to get pregnant, be careful when choosing essential oils - they can interfere with conception and maintaining a pregnacy.

To Use: Before you shower, sit on the edge of the tub and take a little of the salt mixture in your hand and begin working it into the skin. I usually start with my hands and arms first and work down. As you rub the mixture in, the oil will moisturize you (and continue to draw moisture from the air as Olive oil is a humectant) and the salt will act as a buffing agent and remove dead skin.

Once you get everything scrubbed, shower as normal but be very careful of slipping in the tub since the oil can make things a little slick.

I use this in the morning, so I don't really know if it would keep me from sleeping. It doesn't really give me a caffeine buzz, it's just that the skin seems to appreciate it once in a while.

Fall goals:
1. Bike 40-50 miles a week
2. Prepare new garden bed for next season
3. Heal my back

I make a scrub with used coffee grinds, some turbinado sugar (the big grained blonde stuff), and olive oil. My skin is fairly sensitive, and this doesn't bother it. But the caffeine does leave me glowing.

Definitely need to test for sensitivity.... i forgot about that sorry.

Also be aware that some essential oils will draw impurities out of the skin as well.

Oatmeal, honey and milk is what made my face turn red and itchy.

I can use Aveno type oatmeal and it may have been the honey or milk that did it to me, but just do a little test drive is all I suggest.

Great idea, but you might want to try on a small area of skin before you put it all over to make sure you're not sensitive to something.

I did a homemade mask in H.S. and my face turned bright red and itchy.

You can also use honey and ground almonds for a scrub.
