Well didn't let Mother Nature get the best of me. Did get to swim for well over and hour with the kids before the skies opened up and we had to call it quits. Guess all your thought were with me so I got my exercise in and yes... still battling the summer cold but Baby stepping it daily. And NO Late Munching still on the win streak 12 for 12 on that.

Today was crazy. The DM spent the entire day at the store, so i spent the whole day running. So i got plenty of exercise. Food was OK, but i had a slice of pizza when I got home tonight, I was soooo hungry.

I was SO not wanting to get up early to exercise this morning but I had taken an unplanned off day yesterday so I just would NOT allow myself to skip today as well. I was still half asleep (if not more) when I got to the livingroom and decided that balance ball was as much as I could handle in that state. It wasn't until I was sitting astride the ball and doing the workout that I realized I had forgotten my 10-minute cardio warmup. I think that's the first day in 2 weeks that I've exercised and not done the cardio, so that's not too bad. I could have done it after but I end up SO relaxed at the end of this balance ball workout that I couldn't bear to get all sweaty and jump around after that.

Yesterday was a very late day for me. I had to work very late and didn't get to bed until 3 a.m. this morning. I was so tired when I got home (I actually spent 45 minutes sitting in traffic in Boston at 1:30 in the morning because of the #$%$$ Big Dig!) that I forgot to check my blood sugar. Since this morning's reading was excellent, I'm not concerned.
I did get in the 60-minute walk yesterday afternoon. That's six days in a row for me! I'm very pleased. As I type this, I'm trying to justify taking the day off from the walking. I don't dare because it will just make justifying taking a rest tomorrow that much easier. I will either crow or fess up tomorrow.
I know it's late, but I hope you all are having incredible goal-achieving days.
I did my back and core work for the 3rd time this week. I would have liked to get some cardio in today, but have not. I think I might add a bit to my challenge goal. I am feeling so good with the exercise and would like to increase a bit without expecting so much that I forget it completely.
I did some MAJOR AM training for the walk today. My partner and I did 8 miles in 2.5 hours. I was well hydrated before which helped today.
Tomorrow I am hoping to get through 12 or even 15 miles.
The BAD part of today is that I had some sweets this afternoon. I am going to have a clean and lean dinner though. That is my plan and I am stickin' to it.

This whole week went pretty well, got in my water, most days fruit/veg. Today I am feeling hungry, more than usual, but I am trying to choose healthy options and keep drinking a ton of water. Need to get in some exercise, which will be part of my goal month two. Jill
Summer Challenge Goals: 1) Walk 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week 2) Plan weekly menus
I went to the gym this morning with my trainer -so that makes 5x this week - whoowoo! I am particularly pleased because I had to plan ahead in order to make my goal since I am going out of town starting EARLY tomorrow. Whoever did the planning homework has NO IDEA how much of an impact that has made on me - thank you, thank you, thank you!

I did well at the baseball game yesterday -- a grilled chicken fajita for lunch and no other treats. The fajita was kind of a do-it-yourself deal; I added my own veggies and shredded cheese (very lightly) and about a tablespoon of sour cream. Skipped the guacamole.
And this morning I had an NSV that is completely unrelated to my baby step goals, but a really good one nevertheless. I did a 1K erg test with my rowing team, as we do every Friday. But today we were "racing" each other for a seat in the boat that will compete at a regatta next Sunday. I got my best time ever, by eight-tenths of a second. That alone is exciting, but it also means I'm in the bow seat of the women's 8.
Now, I just have to make sure I don't weigh more than the lightweight limit so I can race in a women's 4 that day, too.
