Hi - my sister in law is a vegetarian and she mentioned that she wanted one of KD's books. Which one do you find is more vegetarian friendly or do you prefer? She does eat fish.

Thanks for your help!
Pam

Thanks folks! I have both books and like the 2nd one better (though it is a tough call). I just wasn't sure from a vegetarian perspective if one was more of a hit.

Thanks!
Pam

I would recommend KD's first book. I am a vegetarian and have made more recipes out of that one so far. Although the second book is a close second. The school night chicken burritos are great without the chicken. Many recipes are adaptable if your SIL eats soy "chicken" or "beef".

Enjoy every minute!

KD doesn't have a lot of meat-heavy recipes, and your sister could always leave out or substitute something for the meat in most of the dishes (except the ones that are specifically meat dishes, like the flank steak). I have done her City Fried Chicken (2nd book) with fish.

I know in the first book there is a section with vegetarian entrees. And I agree with synesthesia, many of the recipes could be adapted to be veg.

I have kd's green book. As I recall, it has lots of recipes that don't include meat. Plus, the good thing about that book is the intro section is very motivating, plus most recipes have some suggestions for morphs. I'll bet many of them could be adapted for a vegetarian, esp. one who eats fish.
