Your post: "Side note - my new favorite salty snack is 94% fat free kettle corn - 140 calories for an entire bag. I can't generally eat an entire bag, so I have 3-4 cups worth for 60-80 calories"
I bought a package of the Kettle Corn, don't remember the name of it, (threw it out) the box stated sweet and salty, and I found it to be to sweet, what brand did you buy and does it say sweet and salty on it?

I don't know the brand name I buy, but pretty much all 94% fat free popcorn of any flavor is about 20 calories per cup. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this. The lure of kettle corn is that its somewhat sweet, somewhat salty and not overpoweringly buttery. I've seen at least 4 brands at the store, so try another one until you find one you like the best. Or, go for the butter flavor. Smart Balance came out with a new butter-flavor popcorn thats trans fat free I think - but its slightly more expensive than the other brands.

My solution is to add just a little bit more salt as soon as I pour the kettle corn out of the bag (while it's still warm). Stir well. That seems to kick up the saltiness a bit more and cut a bit of the sweetness.
I love kettle corn and caramel corn, but otherwise can leave popcorn alone.
