Hey everyone! I made KD's Tomato/Spinach Tortellini Soup Sunday for DH and me. It was just poilished off! I am adding that to on my Fav. KD recipe list.

What are some of yours??

P.S. If you have not tried making this soup...I highly recommend you doing it...perfect winter food!

She won my family with the fake deep-fried chicken recipe - dredge the chicken pieces in yogurt and then in toasted bread crumbs. Both dh and ds LOVED this.

I used the same technique on mushrooms for ersatz deep fried mushrooms. Yumm!

Because I rarely cook from a recipe, I haven't really tried a lot of the recipes from KD's books verbatim. I think there are only 2 from the second book I've made strictly from the recipe and that was the City Fried Chicken and the green beans with a soy-based sauce/glaze. Both were yummy.

I have used KD's recipes for inspiration to create my own dishes...like the pork tenderloin stir fry...I had never thought of using pork tenderloin for stir fry before and now I LOVE it! Also, after I made the green bean dish with the soy glaze, I tossed cooked somen noodles in the same glaze and added some toasted sesame seeds and that was an awesome side dish.

That's how I tend to cook. I eat something in a restaurant, see something made on Food Network, or see a recipe and it serves as a jumping-off point for me to create a dish. But I rarely make things verbatim from a recipe.

One of my favorites comes from the first cookbook. It's a pork in white wine sauce. I usually make it with chicken instead, but it's the perfect fancy date meal at home.

My favorite one to make and not share is the asparagus and beef stirfry from the second cookbook. I never share asparagus (which is okay since hubby doesn't like it) but that recipe is incredible.

I love the pesto tofu chicken from the new cookbook.

Other big hits for us:
KD's chicken tenders
chicken taco casserole
lemon glazed lemon angel food cake
rhubarb crisp
