If you look at the bottom right corner of the post you are replying to you will see two little Icons. One of them is a " mark. If you click on that instead of the word "reply" you get a reply box that has that whole post already in it with the "QUOTE" already at both ends. You can leave it as is and type your reply after the "/QUOTE" or you can erase part of the original post so that the only thing between the "QUOTE" and the "/QUOTE" is the specific part you are replying to.
And you might notice that on the posts you make there are three little icons in that corner. The one in the middle looks like a file folder with the eraser part of a pencil next to it. If you click on that one it will give you back your post and you can edit your original post. You can even delete your orignial post if you have changed your mind and wish you hadn't said something.

Highlight and "copy" the text you're reading (by right clicking on what you've highlighted and then choosing "copy" OR by hitting Ctrl and C while it's highlighted), then hit the Reply button at the top of the thread.
OR
Type this (without the space after the bracket) before and after what you want to quote:
[ quote] Then what you want to quote [ /quote]
Which (if you took the space out) would look like:
quote:
Then what you want to quote
OR
When you hit "reply" to a thread, there's a button at the top of the new window where you type your reponse that has quotation marks on it (between the Strikethrough and the Bullets...hover your mouse on the buttons and you'll see the descriptions). It puts the [ QUOTE] and [ /QUOTE] in for you, and then you put the text you want quoted in between them.
