I have just turned in the last chapter of my first draft of my dissertation. I will have revisions to do, but the heavy lifting is done. I am in shock.

The job is a really good fit for my skills and experience and interests. I'm thrilled and can't wait to start.

We are doing some freshening up on the house before we talk to a realtor on either end, but I talked with a mortgage lender there and got an idea of what we can afford, and have been cruising the homes for sale. There are a lot of cute older houses in our price range -- I think we can find something we'll be happy with.

Everything else has worked out so well for me that it seems silly to worry. We can manage things fine until we're able to sell and there are a lot of homes on the market that seem to be vacant, from the photos. So we could probably move pretty quickly when we were ready.

What will the new job entail? Are you excited about it????

Best of luck house selling. Hopefully the process will be as painless as possible.

(And at least you are moving somewhere that has a reasonable cost of living. With the loss in so many auto industry jobs, I've heard that their market has really sagged and many deals can be had).

Don't worry, Brie, I'm not a fan of any of the Big Ten teams. MAC all the way. Wink

The job is not at UM, though that's what everyone thinks when I say I'm going to work in A2. It's at a smaller organization and I'm really looking forward to starting.

We're hustling to get the house ready to go on the market. Hope that it sells -- things are slow here.

I think a more appropriate name right now would be Dr.CouchSittingGirl, lately. But now that I am mostly done, I'm going to try to change that.

Mel brought up my personal triathlon -- I also have another leg done -- I found a new job in Ann Arbor. So I'm really happy and feeling very grateful for all the blessings that are entering my life right now. I'm almost bewildered at my good fortune.

Thanks for all the good wishes! Smiler
