| This group has not even had their first organizing meeting. I hope they can get something going. They say the closest curling club is in Knoxville. We get Universal Sports on our cable. |

| Good luck with that. It is really expensive to get a curling club going. Ours is in it's 4th year of existence and it is still struggling.
Each stone is about 500$ and it takes 16 stones to be able to play one game. Our club has 4 sets of stones that we are leasing at a cost of 5000$ per year. And ice time is anywhere from 300-500 per hour depending on if you can find a rink to let you use their ice. I can't even fathom the cost of building your own facility.
I hope they have some wealthy benefactors.
On occasion they show curling on the Universal Sports channel which is available over the air. (not cable or pay tv)
You might also be able to subscribe to curltv.com (I think) They broadcast curling matches fairly regularly. We get a subscription with our club membership. |
