I have some imitation crab that I want to cook and I need some new ideas for main dishes. I usually make crab cakes or a stir fry, but am not fond of crab salad. I'm also a texture snob, so the entire dish can't be all soft.

And yes, I know, it's imitation crab, but I like the stuff. And it's not on the list of seafoods that aren't sustainable or risky for your health.

I just need some new ideas. Big Grin So far I've not had much luck in finding recipes online that are something other than crab cakes, dips, or salad that sound interesting.

And thanks in advance. Smiler

it sure sounds good!

Let me know if you try it and how you like it. I think I'll go find some imitation lobster.

I don't like mayo, so I am not much of a salad (tuna, egg, etc.) person because of that. Plus, I tend to not like cold fish, which I guess makes tuna & crab salad that much less appealing even without the mayo issues. Why, I don't know.

The egg rolls sound like a great idea, I would have never thought of that! Smiler

Laura,
What about some type of crab egg roll? The outside would give you a nice crunch against the soft crab. You could add whatever veggies you like and keep them on the crispier side too.

You could also make crab nachos or even crab pizza. I'm not sure what cheese would go best but I'm sure you could figure out something that would work.

I know you said you are not fond of crab salad-is it the mayonnaise/creamy taste that you don't like? Because I was thinking of open-faced crab-melts on English Muffins. You could make some sort of crab mixture, put on an English Muffin, top with some tomato, cheese(or no cheese) and broil.

I'm trying to think of other ideas, I'll post later if I think of something.

Jill

I have no specific goal(s) right now. I am trying to find the spiritual side of myself that I lost somewhere along the way.
