The Nov. issue of Women's Day Magazine has a GREAT article on diabetes. I really recommend it. Learned all kinds of new stuff... like depression increases your risk of diabetes…. There is a clear description of the A1C test that SKE was asking about… Lots of good stuff.
* * * * *
On the other hand, I DON'T recommend the "Budget Cook" recipes...
"Amazing suppers start with this inexpensive pantry staple. Now that's using your noodle!"
The fabulous, secret ingredient? Top Ramen noodles... ICK!

The first recipe for “Noodle Pan Pizza” costs $1.20 a serving
and has 26 g. fat

, 11 g. saturated fat and 999 mg of sodium (60% of the current daily requirement). This has 437 calories (not bad for dinner…), but the bad part is that it is a small serving and you’ll probably be hungry and will need to eat more… which will make this dinner cost more in both calories and dollars.
The other recipe is similar… a little less fat… a little more sodium… more calories.
What a crock…!
I know most of us on this board could make it healthier, more filling and for less $$$$.
But the diabetes article is worth reading the magazine for…
