It's Labor Day, the day America honors the worker. I think it's a good day to honor your own hard work. Take a minute to remind yourself how far you've come in your journey and how hard you've worked to break bad habits, add healthy new ones, and stick to your plan every single day. Then remind yourself that it's been worth it!
What else are you doing today?
For me, my day is going to be spent nursing DS through a stuffy nose and fever. Not the way either one of us wanted to spend this holiday, but he's taking small comfort in the fact that he gets to watch TV all morning. I need to get in a good run today, not only to keep to my training plan but also to undo a lot of off-plan eating from last night's dinner party. *Sigh*
S/D today were OK. Not great but OK. I had lots of veggies, limited meat, no dessert but I did have a glass of 20 year old French Burgandy that my dad openned. Went for a mile post dinner walk since that wasn't planned.
Looking forward to being back to the regular routine tomorrow.
Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.
We spent a good chunk of the day at the state park and after we shower and clean up are heading to my parents for a cookout.
B was the usual, L was a veggie sandwich and grapes and S/D will be at my parents and I don't know what they are serving but I am planning on eating slowly and mindfully and making good choices.
Exercise today was a 2 hour hike and 1 hour of kayaking.

My biggest challenge today is staying busy/out of the kitchen/away from the food. So far this morning, I've cleared the floor of DS's room of Legos; made the beds; cleaned up after last night's party; taken out the garbage and recycling; worked in the garden, picking green beans and cutting back the arugula and basil; answered emails; and posted this challenge. It's not even noon and I'm running out of chores!
DH is out fishing. DS was supposed to go along, but the boat is no place for stuffy-nosed kid with a fever. I'll be lot less annoyed if he brings home a fish.
I haven't been able to come up with a goal, since I'm just in survival mode with everything I have going on between school, work, and half training.
I did a 6 mile run this AM. All I need is for this week to get back to my normal schedule. All this free time is creating more snacking-urges that I am struggling to fight through.
Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.
