38 lbs is nothing to sneeze at! You are doing great! I hope this new accountability piece helps you out. There isn't a lot of action on this thread but lots of people read it so don't feel like you are off in no-man's land.
Never been to this side of the website. But I thought it was a great place to start my reporting and accountability.
It's only 7:10 and I have already weighedin at the clinic. Not surprised, but not happy, a 214#'s. That's up 2 pounds, but down 38 from when I started. Yeah, my side.
I need to start journaling again and keeping track of morsels that go in my mouth. I need to get back to swimming. Figure out some warm wear to and from the pool! Maybe Santa will bring me an insultated suit.
Back later. Cathy J
It's never too late to get it right.

Congrats on the good test results, Linda. I hadn't heard that about pears but I've been eating a good many of them this fall because they've been SO good/sweet. And don't forget the fiber and oats! Those help, too!

Weight was down. Cholesterol was down 27 points. Bad cholesterol was down. Good cholesterol stayed the same and was still a tad low. Blood pressure was about the same.
I go back in 3 months - but he didn't ask for blood testing next time.

Basically this was good news since this week has been a struggle.
Still hanging in.
Linda
Yeah Linda! Sounds like good news : )

Yaaa Hooo! Went clothes shopping today. I hit a good day at Thrift Town. Everything I tried on fit, except for the size 8 jeans (which were too big) .
Somebody dropped off 3 pairs of Dockers size 6 pants in GREAT condition, which all fit perfectly. I've been resisting shopping for pants because is can be REALLY frustrating. I've been wearing size 10 pants to work which are just hanging on me.
Got 4 pairs of pants, a turtle neck and a plant pot for $18 - but I'm really happy about those size 6's as I started out in a 16 but they were getting tight and I was growing out of them.

I think the plateau is gone. I almost saw a zero on the third digit, but it was just a flash before the scale settled with a 1; but that means that I HAVE lost 1 to 2 pounds.
Also, a few know, we hit a deer on the way back from Columbus on Saturday. We are all fine, but the van... I was afraid that either we weren't going to be covered - since we it was paid off, I didn't have the gold-seal insurance. The deer is covered under comprehensive and we don't even have to pay a deductible!
I'm wondering if maybe the accident with the deer might have scared those pounds out of me! (Sorry, don't really mean to be too indelicate!)
This means that my goal from yesterday's homework is really attainable - which, of course, I was trying to do.
Good for you Ginger! It sounds like you right on track!
I did what you did - focused on getting the food piece under control and then when I was comfortable with that, started working on the exercise part. Just stick with and you'll find the right balance!
Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.
For the past month I've really been focusing on the day-in, day-out of eating in moderation. That's always been the hardest thing for me - I do a lot of all-or-nothing thinking, and once I get in my head that I've "blown it" a little, I figure I may as well blow it good. Also, I have/had this bad habit of seeing every restaurant meal as an opportunity to indulge. I've done so much better with this lately, and have lost 3 lbs. as a result. The only thing is that as my focus on food increased, my exercise totally has totally gone out the window. So my next move is to slowly bring exercise back into the picture, without getting so obsessed with it that I stop the careful planning and awareness that I'm currently putting into food. I find this balance so difficult!
I know all about the jeans dance. I avoided the scale for years, but when getting into my jeans turned into a painful comedy routine, I could no longer deny that I needed to lose weight.
