Thought I'd post about a little landmark I hit this morning. I have been doing the TamiLee Webb "I Want That Body!" DVD for a few months now. When I first got it, I could not come close to getting through the abs workout. I kept at it, though, doing it once a week, and got stronger every week.

This morning, for the first time, I got through the entire abs program without stopping. I suddenly realized, when I was almost to the end of the program, that I hadn't had to stop and I was so excited! This has been my goal since the day I got the DVD cuz this abs program kicks BUTT!

However, I must admit...there is ONE exercise I do an alternative version of. It's one where you're supposed to have both feet up off the ground and then raise one leg all the way vertical and then lower it while also doing an upper body crunch. While I have done it the "right" way before, it feels a little too straining yet. So, for now, I'm keeping ONE foot on the floor while the other raises and lowers.

My Saturday aerobics class has a killer abs session at the end. When I first started taking the class, I could barely get my shoulders off the floor and had to stop constantly--I felt like such a failure. I could not keep up with the class during the abs part. Now, I have noticed my aerobics instructor walking past me and smiling because he sees that I have better form, better control, and that I hardly have to stop at all anymore.

What a great feeling! Smiler

The weekend is never good, everyone is home and we are so busy that it is just grab and go what you can find.

I am getting exersize though. We bought a horse for our boys and the youngest isn't big enough to ride by himself so I walk with him. And to get her to trot alittle I run beside her to help her out. I have to stay close to stop her for him. But didn't relize what exersize that was, he doesn't just want to ride a little it usually is 15-20 min of walking sometimes more and then my hb and son help walking too. I also heard that riding is good exersize for the rider too, not sure if thats true, but, I have been riding also. Big Grin

Ok end of another week, and I did alright. my weight stayed the same (274), but it was a hectic week of job interviews, and I did not squeeze as much exercise in as I would have liked. So here are my goals for the week:

1. eat at least three meals a day. I know it sounds odd, but when i'm busy I forget (dh gets so mad about that)

2. keep with the 2 veg 2 fruit a day this week

3. get in my 64 oz of watereach day

4. 10 minutes of some for of exercise every day this week.

Hey, confession is good for the soul, but don't beat yourself up. Guilt usually isn't a really great motivator.

Don't forget to post your success. They are baby steps, so sometime they seem like baby successes - but progress is still progress even when it is sloooow. I think that success is a much better motivator.

Stay flexible. Figure out what is working!! Figure out what isn't working and why and then figure out a baby step. Try different exercise at different times of day until you find what works for you!

Stacy, congratulations, you are doing real well!! my first I ate health and only gained 15# the whole thing, Doc told me I was so heavy that I didn't need to gain alot as long as I watched what I ate. It was easy because I had been on a diet before I got pg. You keep eating well balanced, and found that if you eat several small times a day it helps the yucky feeling down!!! Good luck

Hi everyone: just thought I would give an update on my pregnancy, I will be 22 weeks on Sunday. I have been eating healthy 97% of the time and I am finally starting to keep it down. I have gained 12 pounds so far, doctor says 7 b/c when I went in for my first appt. at 9 weeks I was a certain weight but at my pre-pregnancy weight after all of my healthy eating I had finally kicked those 5 pounds so I wnet by that. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I haven't been posting b/c I am usually sleeping during my computer time, but I am still here.
Tomorrow I am going for my Saturday beach walk and am really tring to get back into the exercise groove now that I am feeling better. I am going to walk mostly so I will try and post a bit more often.
I miss you my friends and think of you often.

Iowa Mom,
Good job on the water! That is really important and a great first baby step. The thing about baby steps is that you can't do a whole bunch of them at once or they cease to be baby steps. Smiler I find this board to be very supportive and I do find the accountability motivating but I try not to think about it as 'confessing' but more as a reporting. It's a big difference in my head so if it is in yours, try to reword. I've been working on new words to replace statements like "I blew it" over the last few months and I think it makes a big difference in my success!

Have a wonderful weekend and I don't think I told you in the other thread...Welcome! Smiler

Ok, today was the first day...and I am not going to beat myself up. but KD, I didn't have the breakfast, I had oatmeal for lunch, does that count? I didn't exersize like I wanted to. But I did drink water, I only drank one diet pepsi instead of 3. The only thing is that I was cleaning out the freezer and found some chocoate chips, I had to make cookies, at least they were pan and I used splenda, but they are pretty dry so I don't plan on eating a lot. This always happens, when I think I am going to do good and watch everything, I find something fattening. Roll Eyes But as I said I had the water instead of pop, so now tomarrow I will work on the treadmill, well maybe monday instead, don't do very good on the weekends.
Thanks for listening to me!! this might help if I have to confess my dieting sins!! Red Face

Don't give up Peg! Plateaus are temporary : )

Oh, I'm not giving up. I just had already intended to take a break in like 3 lbs anyway so I think I am just going to take that break now. I have read some stuff that indicates that your body needs to adjust to a 10% weight loss and then it will be ready to lose again. I don't really see any point in 'fighting through' on top of the holidays. I'm really pleased to meet this first goal. A little bummed it is 3 lbs away from the nice round number but also realizing that 10% is a totally awesome achievement!

Time to go shopping for a new dress for the wedding I'm attending next month. That will be fun!

Well, I think I'm officially on a plateau. grrrr....

I had set out on this journey thinking I would lose 10% at least. It turns out that it was a good number to have in my head because guess how much I lost!? <eyeroll> No big deal except that my little perfectionist brain wanted to stop at a nice round number that ended in a zero. I have weighed virtually the same weight for a month now with the exception of a 2 lb. gain around my cycle (with coordinating high sodium eating...what a surprise) that was gone the next week (water I'm sure).

Not really sure what this means for me...guess I need to look at some other measurements. I had thought that I didn't want to try and lose across the last quarter of the year so maybe I'll just accept this new stopping point and wait til the new year to get going again.

Laurie,

The job CAN get ya' so congrats on finding a way to cope with it.

A slightly comical progress report from me - I fastened my bra on the smallest closure this morning without thinking or binding. Felt/feels good!
