For those of you who managed to stick to your guns and goals and bypass handfuls of Halloween candy over the past few weeks and especially yesterday, return to your suites, pick out one gigantic reward and collect it!
The rest of us will create game plans to make up for lost time
If you indulged a little more than you perhaps should have - make up for it with super lean and clean menus. This is not the week to have "granola" bar breakfasts, fast food lunches and pizza dinners.
Rather - oatmeal or whole grain cereal and fruit for breakfast, salad lunches with lean protein and portion controlled dressings, chicken or fish and 3 veggie suppers! You get the picture. Healthy stuff!
Workouts should be bumped up by at least a few minutes. Increase the intensity for 1-5 minute intervals as long as you can stand it.
Don't give that Halloween candy an all season pass! You don't have to let it hang around. Make up your mind to ditch it. Make your game plan, post it here for extra credit and let's roll!
Candy-wise, I did really well yesterday. Had no Halloween candy at all. I don't give out candy at the door anymore (has nothing to do with healthy eating) so I had no Halloween candy in the house to begin with.
Luckily for me, I am off work on Mondays, so hopefully most or all the leftover Halloween candy that people brought in to work to get rid of will be gone before I get there tomorrow!
The only Halloween candy I've had the whole week is 2 bite-size pieces of a rice-krispie-type chocolate candy in a jar at work...1 each on two different days.
So overall, I'm very pleased with how I did with Halloween candy. That doesn't mean I'm pleased with myself in every OTHER way, but I definitely am in that way.

Not one piece crossed these lips. I even ran away from home to avoid the trick or treaters.
But, I did discover a really cool trick to really taking the fat out of gumbo: brown the flour in an empty, hot pan. Watch it carefully, as it changes color quick. Stir frequently. It works with any gumbo recipe.
Yeah, comfort food without the guilt.

Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.
Well, I didn't do too bad. We don't have any kids and I made sure I bought candy I didn't like to give out - it just works better that way. And, no one at work brought in candy (that's a first!!). My problem this week is that we are planning a celebration for our anniversary, so that will be a tempting night. Oh well, I'll just be good the other days this week and kick up my cardio a bit...

I actually didn't do too badly. I only had 2 small sized Mounds candy bars yesterday. On Saturday night, when our neiborhood did Halloween, I had a small piece of cheesecake at a neighbor's house instead of candy.
Today in my office someone brought in leftover candy and Cheetos and someone else a pumpkin pie. I haven't had any of it.
I had a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, a ham and soy cheese sandwich on high fiber bread and an apple for lunch, and dinner is going to be grilled chicken on "big salad".

I was really happy with yesterday... didn't over-do it.
Am back on low cal/point days and taking recommendation of dietician to cut back on cheese, dairy fats, etc. So this should be a good week.
No pizza or fast food lunches in my future this week!
Going to exercise now! No 1000 cal burning work outs in my future either! I'd burn myself out and never want to exercise again... but that is what works for me. Just going to stay consistent!

I just came from a power workout at the gym to offset yesterday's terrible eating. I burned well over 1000 calories and am feeling much better.
The plan for today food wise (also to counteract yesterday): B: whole wheat bread with low fat cheese (1 oz) w/decaf green tea L: ww tortilla with sprouts and hummus, tomato salad and a granny smith apple (my favorite) S: garden burger "chicken" and veggies (small portion - under 200 calories and 1.5 g of fat) D: 1/2 a roasted cornish game hen (no skin) with fresh herbs, wild rice and eggplant Dessert: 1 small fun sized chocolate bar from my dd (if she's not willing to give it up, 1/2 cup of skinny cow ice cream).
