I went to a new gyn yesterday, a guy who beleives in supplements. He gave me lots of pills to take (well, not "gave", $$$$ later). He understood that I did not want to do treatments that had already failed for me, and was suitably horrified when I told him what the previous doc had told me to do (I don't think I posted this on the board, but the previous doc had wanted me to go on Lupron [synthetic menopause] and had made the comment that I should "avoid penises"!!!!) Ok, I would like to have a sex life sometime in my future. So the latest doctor says that he thinks the supplements will help me. Now I just have to get my records out of the previous doc so I don't have to have another ultrasound.

The medical profession is so much fun!

Bleah!

Good for you Cate, I hope that the new supplements work.

I can't believe a doctor told you to avoid penises. Unbelieveable!

Good luck Cate! I hope these supplements help!

It drives me nuts when doctors hand out such simplistic but ridiculous advice like it's just the most logical thing in the world. Ugh.

I sure hope you see some improvement with the supplements. Be careful though to check out any interactions both between supplements and between supplements and any prescription meds you may be taking as well.

I think that the new doctor should request your records.

Hang in there. Eventually, you will find a md who is a good match with you.

Can't imagine a doctor trying to tell you that having no sex life for the rest of your days would be a healthy thing. What kind of arrogant jerk would do that? I can't imagine that any doctor would give a similar "prescription" to guys.

I hope that your new supplement regimen will help.

Its nice to find a doctor willing to look beyond the obvious answers to help find treatments best suited for you as an individual.

I hope it works out for you.
