Okay, we have these disgusting bugs called stinkbugs all over our house. I know many people in my area and some surrounding areas have a lot too. They are ugly and DO NOT smoosh them, that's how I learned what they were! Anyway, anyone else had a problem with these things and is there anyway to eliminate them? They are in my bedroom, I have found them on my pillow and worry about them crawling on me while I'm sleeping-yuk!
I have no specific goal(s) right now. I am trying to find the spiritual side of myself that I lost somewhere along the way.
I had what they call a nuisance bug that looked like a lightening bug but was black with a red stripe. These didn't bite or stink but they covered my small apt in no time. I asked and exterminator about them. Actually took one in so she could identify it. Anyway she said the best couse was to have my ll spray a commercial product or hire and exterminator. My ds and I are both asthmatic and I was worried how it would affect us. I went to Wal-mark and found a spray called bug stop. It is clear and practally oderless. I sray it inside and outside. around the frame of the house and windows. I haven't had them come back since. When it rains I re-do the outside a little more but it last 3-9 months. Keeping up with the outside made all the difference though. We have a bad problem with wood spiders also. A bite infected my son for 3 months. We haven't seen very many since using this product and it hasn't bothered his or my asthma so far. Fairly inexspensive thing to try before you call in the exterminator.
Pesticides don't come near our home, by doctor's orders, so a professional exterminator isn't an option for us. Since being so ill, bedridden for several years, with Environmental Illness (EI) and Multiple Chemical Sensitivities (MCS), and discovering that pesticides were partly to blame for my illness we have learned many natural ways to exterminate pests without resorting to poisons. No offense to anyone, but in my opinion pesticides should be the last resort. Often times pesticide exposures do not show up in the form of illness for many years after the exposure, as in my own case.
call a pest control company. They came in to get out of the cold weather and will live in your house and multiply. You really should at least have one application by a professional pest control company. They are very hardy little buggers and will enjoy a long life in your house if you don't.

We had ladybugs invade our home while living in NC once, by the thousands. We vacuumed them up with a hand-held Dirt Devil and emptied them outdoors. I've heard they will also gather on a saucer of peach jam. I got one caught between a chair and the back of my knee once and it stung like crazy. Not sure if your bugs are the same as ours was, but they stunk terribly when smashed.
