My parents informed us today that they wanted to get us something "nice" as a house warming gift for our new house.

Our current kitchen table is too large and totally the wrong style for our new house so we've had our eye out on a new one but it was too expensive.

Turns out that August is a great time to buy furniture and the set we wanted is 40% off which basically brings it down the same amount my parents wanted to spend.

I spoke to the sales person this evening and we are going to meet her over the weekend to see the table one more time before placing the order.

I'm THRILLED! : )

So far the week is off to a good start and I've shaken off yesterday's temporary scale fixation.

DD is at her last week of camp so I had some mother-daughter time with my mom today. We went on a great hike (and at a great pace) this morning and really enjoyed the outdoors and being together. (Very nice to do something active instead of having the outing centered around food).

I'm anticipating the rest of the week going equally as well especially because our kitchen countertops get installed tomorrow and the tile backsplash is out on the floor and ready to be installed. Appliances get installed next week so the kitchen will be done by the 16th!!!

Of course now the packing needs to start but it will be good exercise ; )

Thanks Cathy! I had lunch today with my dad and I told him how much I really appreciate having them near by and that we get to see each other on a regular basis now. (They moved to OH from NY to be near us 3 years ago).

With my mil being so ill, it has really brought home how much I shouldn't take for granted the time I have with my family. I'm very, very lucky for what I have....

We should be getting our "move in" date at the end of this week. If I had to guess, it will probably be early September.

Wow, that is soooon! That has to be really exciting! Hope the old place gives you a pleasant surprise soon. People are looking at it 2-3 times so I'm sure it's just a matter of time until the right people show up.

No, to both questions - the house has not sold yet and we don't have a move in date for the new house yet.

We just reduced the price of our current house yet again today. Other than new construction, stuff just isn't moving in our area very well. We have a "plan B" though even if we need to carry the house until next year so it will be OK no matter what. I just wish it would sell!
