I emailed my pbs station in sacramento. They wrote back saying that not at the moment, but that he would submit the request at the next weekly meeting. Anyone else out there from this area? michelle
I think I posted this in the wrong thread before...here is the email I just sent:
To Whom it May Concern:
I am writing to urge you to air the "Cooking Thin and Loving Food" special by Chef Kathleen Daelemans. Chef Kathleen offers sound advice on healthy eating and exericise and can explain it with empathy and understand to those struggling with weight loss issues, because she has been there herself. She is informative and entertaining.
I can attest to the fact that she has a large audience base in the Atlanta Metro area. I frequent a forum on her website, and many of us that participate daily are from the Atlanta area. Chef Kathleen has made several appearance in Atlanta, and they have all been well attended.
One of the individuals already wrote to you and was told that you are not planning to air the show at this time. I strongly urge you to recondsider.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Very truly yours, Dawn Taylor-Hudson

"Considering the obesity problem in the country today, I hope you are planning to air the new PBS show by Kathleen Daelemans. She has the most sensible suggestions for obtaining AND maintaining a healthy weight of anyone I have ever seen. I have been a fan and have followed her work since 2001."

I have been reading through all of the posts to catch up and just came to this one which I think PBS would like to read. I am not sure who wrote it now because I lost the page when I was looking for this topic (I am still new and getting used to all this). If the person who is writing the mass letter to pbs thinks it is good, I think it is worth including. Just a thought. Maybe there are other things in these posts.
"I am 13 years old and am going into eighth grade. I was overweight when I was younger. My family used to eat McDonald’s almost every day, but now we eat healthy and play lots of basketball and now I am very thin and healthy.
I recommend Kathleen Daelemans to assist you in your fight against childhood obesity. At my school, they serve fatty foods like pizza and burgers, which make the people at my school overweight. Kathleen came to San Francisco to do a cooking demonstration. I met her there and she talked to me and my family for about an hour. She is also is on the Food Network. She is very good at making normally fatty foods very healthy. I hope you consider this email."
Steph, When I wrote I said "I just found out my favorite Chef, Kathleen Daeleman's will have a show airing on PBS. Would you please let me know when it will air?"
Of course, their answer was "It won't."
Dawn
