How are you going to get more movement into your day today?
Aside from your regular exercise routine, how will burn a few extra calories and stay active? buring 20-50 calories per day adds up over a year.
Will you park at the far side of the lot? Will you hide the remote? Will you walk the house while you chat on the phone?
I am going to shovel. We were hit with lots of snow. I am also not going to ask dd to go get antything for me today. I can run upstairs or to the phone.
Hrm. I think I will dig out my two pound weights and begin work on my upper body strength while I watch TV. I am too tired to do anything more intense, I have a fairly physical job PLUS walking to and from the bus. Lucky for me, since I have eaten so much sugar at work until recently *eye roll*

Count me in among the snow shoveling ct'ers. I snowblew the driveway (we have about 120 feet worth of driveway) and shoveled paths for the dog and the mailperson. I'll still do my normal workout, if for no other reason than to see if I can make my back stop complaining about the shoveling.
Life is like a roller coaster, with lots of ups and downs, but the curves, spirals, loops and corkscrews are what make life interesting.
I did my exercise before I read the homework but actually I did do extra today. I first did Tamilee's Advanced Arms Workout and then did an hour (4 miles) of WATP. Then I had breakfast and logged on to AOL, where I found the FLYgirls in mid-FLY so I joined them and got some additional unexpected physical activity!

I'm in Columbus and see if I can go for a walk in the snow. I'm real proud to say that yesterday I did 5 consecutive flights of my stairs before I left.
We have shoveling to do too and we've been walking around town because the weather isn't great for driving. I love that we can walk to the bank, the post office, and the library (where I am now). Hopefully they will get the roads clear because I want to go to the gym to run today and also hit the grocery store. I need to get some good food to cook for the week.

Although I am nursing a bummed out knee today, crutches take a lot of energy. I will not ask people to get me things, I will do that myself. No shoveling for me (thank goodness) But I can walk the mall; slowly, but I can do it...at least half. I am going to sneak into the pool at some point this weekend and do some very easy, low impact movements for the knee, in the meantime, I can do laps and drag that leg behind me. Where there is a will there is a way.
It's never too late to get it right.
