Last year we started our Workout Across North America at Vancouver Canada and postponed it at Lake Superior in Canada due to the winter weather.

How about starting again on Sunday April 2. That is when Daylight Savings begins and it will stay light longer in the evenings.

Just a refresher for new and old.

We call it "Workout Across North America" because not everybody who particapates walks. Some walk, some run, some row and some exercise and convert it into "miles". I think 30 min of exercise = 1 mile (if that is not correct, somebody let me know).
Keep track of your "mileage" from Sun thru Sat and post it to the thread I put up on Sat night or Sun morning (first one will be Apr 9. for week of Apr 2 - Apr 8). I will add it up on Wednesdays and plot it on the map and let you know how far we went. Sometimes I will post a link to pictures of where we are or where we have been the previous week.
Our plan was to cross Canada from the West Coast to the East Coast using the TransCanada Hwy, then go down the East Coast of the US to Florida and across the southern states to California and up the West Coast back to Vancouver. Then we may go on up to Alaska and across to Hawaii.

Don't think you "have" to post every week. I am sure the participants will change from week to week depending everyones schedules. And don't think your "mileage" is too small to matter. When we started last year I was only posting 2 or 3 miles (or less) per week.

I really need to get back to walking now that the weather is improving and this is just what I need to keep me motivated.

the end he will kick? Wink

What will he be kicking other than my butt to the gym?? LOL.

He just called..we talked about our workouts and stuff as usual..he's a great support. He's bringing over wine & movies tomorrow (we do that every saturday) and I'll be making dinner.

I'll be making soup ...and something else..any suggestions? I'll post the soup recipe in the recipe section..it's soooo good. However, I know a lot of people on here are vegetarian, so you can substitute whatever you like.

Have a goood night!

Hmmm, Terri, seems that this "bf" is a new development since you last checked in. Care to share? Wink

Absolutely! His name is Ken...and we actually met online at the beginning of December, talked for a while..graduated to the phone..then on Dec 27th we met. I opened the door...he gave me a huge hug hello...and we've been together ever since. We both believe in the same religious values...and he does little things that surprise me..it's sweet. Like last week, he was at the hardware store doing stuff for himself..and saw a bamboo...he thought of me as I have a vase with 2 of them..so he got another for me. Little things like that...very adorable.

He's 39...young at heart..I'm 38..the same way. Here's one of the best things for ME...he's been working out for 10 yrs + ....one of the first things we talk about when we talk everynight is our workouts. Sooo... I kinda/sorta have to work out..and it's now a habit instead of feeling like a job.

We're getting real close...and I love that.

OH man..I better stop or you'll have a novel on your hands...so I'll control my fingers and stop right..HERE Smiler

I am in the Walk Kansas program and they say that for every mile it is 15 minutes. Just an imput. I am in the walk North America also. Great to keep me motivated.

I'm in! I will be posting some serious mileage training for the Avon walk so this will be a fun thing for me! Thanks for coordinating Judy!
