Suppose someone handed you 1,440 one dollar bills today. You have to spend them before midnight, because tomorrow they will be gone forever. What would you do with such a gift?

Well, today you have 1,440 more minutes than you usually do, because February 29 happens only once every four years. How will you spend these precious minutes that will soon be gone for good? What will you do with this gift?

The 29th was just a normal day for me, I had to work. Frowner I did take the time to make one of my favorite dishes yesterday, so at least dinner was kind of special.

If I had the day off (I tried but we were short handed yesterday), I would have probably made arrangements ahead of time to either have breakfast with my second mom or lunch with my best friend. Then done homework and/or vegetated on the couch for a few hours just to enjoy a break.

If I had the money, 10% would have gone straight to church, some would be set aside to (hopefully) fix our currently dead treadmill, and 10% would be sitting in my savings account. Whatever was left would go toward putting some serious insulation or new windows into our chilly 1929 not too well insulated house.

The money I would probably give to our local food bank. They are doing a big drive right now and I know they are running very low on supplies.

As for the time today - mother nature put a damper on my plans as we're getting dumped on again.

I did get in my workout this morning and my errands which turned out to be stressful because of the horrible road conditions (plus I'm now worried about dd getting home safely from school today).

This afternoon I was supposed to go to a movie with a friend but it's really, really nasty out and we may do wine and cheese by the fire instead which will also be nice ; )

And on the 29th day, she rested. I think I got the all clear from the docs on Monday, and have been running all week trying to play catch up for the three weeks I was sick. I have a sick boy in my house, I have a very ill father (please pray for him, he is 84 yrs old and has pneumonia and Influenza A), I need to take some stress of and just rest. So on the 29th day, she rested.

It's never too late to get it right.

my first reaction is "well i sure as anything wouldn't work those extra 1,440 minutes if i had the choice." as it turns out i've been working my butt off this week, more than in a long time. sorry for the no caps, it's that kind of day.

give it to some friends in mexico who do not have enough money to buy meat.

Goals:
1. Stop thinking like a chronic dieter and start living to inspire.
2. HALT (hungry, anxious, lonely, tired) I will stop and tune in with myself should I experience these things, and respond with something healthy.
3. One word 2008: courage
4. Eat slow and mindfully.

I am going to a wedding.
One of dd's best friends from college is getting married.
I don't think the groom will have any trouble remembering their anniversary date. It only comes around once every 4 years Wink
