What's going on here in the area of exercise? All the new people who have joined, what kind of movement are you giving your bodies? The weather is so nice, are you able to get out and see the world. We do have a "walk around the USA" going on. If you can keep track of the Number of miles you do a week, and then post it in the appropriate spot on Saturday am's we will count up those miles done by everyone and see how far across the USA we've gotten. So far I think we are in Oklahoma????? We are going from NYC to San Fran. this summer, but, they way we are going, we will have to do a tour of Canada to get back to NYC....please join us, it's a lot of fun...to see how far we've gotten and to know that we are moving out little buns to being littlier. Is that a word????

It's never too late to get it right.

Wow, just seeing what everyone has been doing shocked me. I need to find no change that to make the time to get moving. I was doing pretty good, I just totally slacked this week. I need to reprioritize some things so that I definitely get in some exrercise time for me. I feel embarassed that so many people sound so fit by their activities and me I barely do a 1/2 hour 2 or 3 days a week lately. Well, at least it gives me something to strive for.

Take care everyone and thanks for the ideas.

Somehow, I kept ending up being "it", so I had to run a lot. Finally, I had to give up on them, because I just couldn't run anymore. Plus, they had me crawling all of the playgroud equipment, and through those tubes and down the slides....it was fun, but it wore me out.

Sounds like you caught a "bug"....I am so sorry. I hate being sick, but hate it more if the weather is nice. Hang in there, you'll be better soon. And does crawling count, if you wnat it to.

Steph, congrats on the new job...being as tho I'll bet that's been your focus, once you settle in, you'll get back into the exercise plan you like. Even a walk around your work is exercise.

Today I was in downtown Atlanta, so I walked several blocks to lunch and back. I may also try to walk again this evening.

Hello,

You all are so way above me on the exercising. I just started my new job and now that things have kinda settled in there, I am going to start working out more.

That has always been the hard part for me. I use to be extremely active, but I've fallen out of it. I need to get back into it.

Does crawling from the couch to the bathroom count? That's all I've been doing the past 2 days Frowner

I've had a hard time getting to the gym in recent weeks. Idealy I do 2 30 min water aerobic classes a week followed by 1 hour of nautilus each time, and on another day I do the 60 minute water aerobics class.

I walk- almost a run walk on a good day and just a nice, fast paced walk on "slower" days. I go 2-4 miles per day. I am loving that I can get outside and enjoy this spring.

Since vacation I have let crunches and pushups slide. Need to get back. It takes so little time.

Walk the dog twice a day for 20 mins. each. (He walks slow.) It isn't much exercise but this really is non-negociable as dog must go potty somewhere! (sp?)

Eliptical machine 4 or 5 days a week for 26 minutes

2 min crunches
4 push ups

As I posted in another thread recently, I am terrible about incorporating activity into my life OTHER than intentional exercise. I'm currently exercising 6 times a week which usually looks something like this:

Mon: 1 1/2 hours cardio + 20-40 mins. weight training
Tue: Balance ball
Wed: WATP 3 mile
Thu: WATP 3 mile
Fri: Balance ball or WATP 2 mile
Sat: Same as Monday
Sun: Usually off or maybe a walk outside

I take walk breaks during work, and go for a 1/2 mi - 1 mi walk afterwards, 2-3 days a week.

Occasionally, I will run after work, rather than walk (that's the plan for today anyway). Sometimes I hit the batting cages too.

On the weekends, I either have fire academy, which means PT, plus 16 hours of pulling hose, slinging tools, crawling around while doing all of the above, as well as being bunkered and packed out.

Or I'm off, and I go hiking or play soccer.

I also go to the gym 2-3x a week, where I do 20 min of weights, and the stairmaster for about 25 minutes.

If I'm extra motivated, I'll do an at-home workout consisting of a combination of some of the following: pushups, crunches, toe raises, dips, squats, yoga, pilates.
