Hi all,
I realized this morning as I was weighing myself that I hadn't posted an update since before leaving for SoCal last weekend.
Last weekend, dh and I went to a friends wedding in Laguna Beach, while we were in SoCal without kids we decided to hit Disneyland (and got a great deal on our tickets). So we left a zero dark thirty on Saturday morning (last weekend, the 4th) and drove to our hotel in Anaheim...checked in (they didn't have a room available for us yet, but they let us do the paperwork and park our car). We walked across the street to Disneyland and spent 3 hours in Disneyland....went to wedding, returned to park and spent another 7 hours there. The eating was anything but healthy (our goal was to conquer the park, AND we were with another couple), but I figure I walked for 8 hours that day, so I figured it all balanced out. Sunday we got up, had the hotel continental breakfast, went to Disney's California Adventure Park, and spent 3 hours there and then drove home. Again, the eating was anything but healthy, but it WAS lighter than Saturday

Anyhow, all of that to explain that when I weighed myself Monday morning, I was up 3 pounds. I KNEW that it was all water retention and wasn't worried about it. By Wednesday I was back to the previous week's weight (had lost most of the water

) and then on Thursday, I was down another 1.5 pounds!

So, in the past 3 weeks (since 2/27) I have lost a total of 5 pounds. I am happy with that. But the best part is, I am settling well into the exercise/food routine. I did discover this weekend that I need to retrain my husband on serving sizes of high calorie treats like ice cream. I did pretty well, in not eating all of what he served me, but it is expensive to waste that food, so I just need to work on retraining him
I'm keeping my calorie count to an average of 1400-1500 per day with one day per week in the higher 1700-1800 range (I found in the past that this, as well as LOTS of water) is the key to my weight loss success. I am averaging 4 days of planned exercise per week, would like to work on increasing that this week to 5 days. last week, I also increased the intensity of my exercise for one day. It was doable and felt good, so this week, I'll increase 2 days

Blessings,
Lori
