Hi everyone. So I decided I would make a family cookbook for holiday gifts this year. I have an intro and almost all the recipes in there under what section it goes under.
Now I am a total blank what I should do from here with the layout. I am hoping to get some easy and fun ideas I can work on for the next few days. So I am all ears if anyone has any suggestions.

I ditto the suggestion of family photos included with recipes. I used Snapfish.com to make 2010 calendars for my family members of family pictures going clear back to the 50s. Since I was going to be in Ohio to take care of Mom after her surgery anyway, I gave everyone up there their calendars early (they were to be Christmas presents) and they were absolutely thrilled. Mom and my baby brother looked through theirs multiple times just while I was there and it prompted some great discussions of family memories.

a little clip art doesn't hurt either. There is a lot of free stuff on the web. And I agree with iz that some family photos would be nice too.
As for the format, if you have a lot of different recipes, you could divide it up like a regular cookbook with different sections for salads, sides, main dishes, etc. Another thought would be to divide the recipes by the families that they came from, or perhaps by the specific gatherings that they are associated with?
If you are interested in having the cookbooks actually printed in book format, lulu.com does a nice job. My SO had a cookbook made for his great aunt and other family members a few years ago. It turned out really nicely. That one was just a paper back. He also had a hardbound story book made for our niece. It was also quite nice.
