I am making Christmas gift boxes for teachers, dh's coworkers, piano teacher, neighbors and a few friends.
This year I am making boxes with 8 truffles each. I made this choice because I generally overeat junk food and can let go of truffles made with really good bittersweet choc and cream. (Funny how I would gobble up a Snickers bar, but can pass a truffle.)
I am posting because I want to be extra sure not to eat ANY this year. (I know how they taste- how could they be bad with the best choc and the best cream?!)
I will post here after they are boxed and wrapped. My reward for not touching them will be a new pair of exercise shorts. I want the shorts more than the chocolate.

I'm sort of struck by sometimes we do something and it seems like it should work... like making small cookies... and then it sort of back fires. Like if they had been full fat and larger, you might have eaten just one and come out ahead calorie wise.
I remember Sheri posting something like that with the mini candies. She eats just one a day and was doing fine... and made some kind of very logical switch and it threw her off course...
I just know that I can relate.

Thanks all for the encouragement and support. Sophia and I boxed the truffles. They look divine! I did not eat any and am looking forward to my reward.
Bee, sounds like you did burn a fair amount of calories!
Denise, Glad you turned down the biscotti. I think it will make you life easier the next few days. I am all aobut making my life less stressful.
Sheri, I have plenty of moments where I want the ____ more than the reward. Sweets are less tempting to me than salty stuff.
Wish I had your resolve Sandy. I made gingerbread cookies today with dd and definiately ate too many. They were low fat and I made very small bite sized cookies for myself but as it turned out, they were too easy to eat too many of : ( f
I'm hoping that I burned some of them off at the zoo this evening in 27 degrees, pulling a 40 pound child in a wagon for 1 1/2 hours.
Out of our beliefs are born deeds; out of our deeds we form habits; out of our habits grows our character; and on our character we build our destiny.
I went to help the drama club teacher iron costumes and turned down the offer of a package of biscotti. (I think someone gave them to her, and she was trying to pass them along. )
I make biscotti at Xmas. I like the ones I make.

Just TWO truffles would be perfect...
Denise, Funny you mention TWO, because I was buying the boxes and thought I needed to buy the larger box that fit 16 truffles. I tend to always think big around food and gifts and feeding people. It is good to get some perspective. P.S. The truffles are quite small- about half the size of a Godiva truffle. I think that smaller ones are so sweet.
