I've been doing great logging on fitday!

I'm going to add, "Keep dining room table clutter free" this week. I bought Nelson flowers for Fathers Day and the table looks so nice with out the mail and keys and metronomes and bike helmets and all of the various items that my family and I collectively dump there... that adds up sooooo FAST!

I had a great week 2 with both my summer challenge goals as well as my mini pre-vacation goal.

I didn't exercise at all. I may have pulled a muscle somewhere because I have pain when I walk. I also saw my PT Thu and he found a ginormous amount of sore trigger points in my back and hips. Plus he said I shouldn't be running with my back condition Frowner - well it wasn't even running. He saw how my face fell when he told me No Running, and said I could use my own judgement! SO...no exercise and no PT exercises either.

Avoiding sugar 100% hasn't worked. Dark chocolate nibbles after meals add up. Maybe I should try chromium supplements to kick that. I hear they're good for insulin resistance.

As for positive thinking - hah. That's all there is to be said on that subject.

I did okay on my challenge goals, except that THIS time, I forgot the core/toning workout. I did do 1 weight workout and I've walked several times this week, which is already more exercise than I'd been getting before the challenge, so that is a move in the right direction.

Sweets-wise, I'm doing relatively well--not great, not awful.

The morning I walked a mile in 30 minutes and I stopped for my 30 second rest every 2 laps instead of on every lap.

Exercise wise, my pool is down and the weather has been so cold that I can't go outside to swim either. SO>< no swimming. ICK! And my joints are paying for it.

I am happy. I'll just keep doing my pilates and go from there.

Doing well so far on vacation. Walking, exercising, and food on plan, with reasonable accommodations made when the situation warrants.

(And while I'm not "happy" that other people are having hot, humid weather--now you know why I'm loathe to exercise outdoors from May-September.)

Challenge Goals:
*10 minutes of unplanned exercise five times a week
*Gym time twice a week
*Socialize at least once every two weeks.

I’m happy. I feel like I’ve done the best job I could do putting my food in Fitday. It didn’t take long and wasn’t all that hard.

When I started, I had popped up to 127, but lost 3.5 - 4 lbs right away (which sort of surprised me that most of the weight that I wanted to lose was water - but I did eat sushi TWICE in once day right before starting the challenge and that will pack on some water weight… Smiler) Was down to 122.5 today.

Over the past week:
Average eaten per day: 1842 calories
(7.6% of the calories have come from saturated fat)
Average burned: 2196

So that would give me a deficit of 2478 calories for the week, or about .5 - .75 lb of fat. That seems about right to me. So while Fitday’s food or exercise numbers don’t work for everybody… they generally work for me. And posting in the “What’s for Dinner Thread” for accountability generally works for me. (Lost 15 lbs in 2004 in 5 months doing that.Smiler)

Past experience is that from June to November are really easy to maintain months for me. Looking forward to losing another pound or two over the next 3 weeks and getting to bottom of range and kind of sailing on thru most of the rest of the year.

Thanks for starting the challenge, you guys!

Denise

Yesterday I did 4 laps without stopping one time and I did the whole rest of the mile 2 laps at a time.

So far my week is going well. (I do my weeks Sunday to Monday. This helps me track exercise.)

I have exercised 3 days out of 4 days thus far. Each day I have been at 45-50 minutes of exercise. This morning I get up a 6 and walked in order to avoid the heat, then did at home weight work for 15 minutes.

I've eaten on plan except for the Cheetos.

I have been giving myself credit.

Eat Sitting Down

I still have not set my goals since I was on vacation but 5 out of 7 days of vacation we walked at least 30 min/day. It was also disgustingly hot in South Carolina the entire vacation, even at 6:30AM. I swam a lot and played in the ocean so I guess that counts as some activity.

Dawn,
Good luck on your interview tomorrow!

Jill

Monday we played at the park (twice). Yesterday, we played at two different parks, went to pick strawberries and and went to the pool.

My mom just took DS and my niece to the pool. I have a job interview in the morning, and I want to go scope out the area...make sure I know exactly where it is, where to park, things like that. I will probably join them at the pool later.

Just did 15 minutes of weight work (Tami Lee Webb Arms Program 1). 15 mins isn't much but, considering that I haven't lifted but a time or two in at least 4 months, I thought it would be a good idea to start small and build back up.

I suppose I just need a vacation. Sigh. And a new brain.

I'm having a bad week. Work sucks and I've been weepy for no apparent reason. My digestion is acting up like crazy (stomach acids) and I haven't been exercising at all (I think the last time I walked was on the weekend). I feel like running away from most of my life. Well, half of it anyway.
